Some GreenTree rep of foreign ethnicity just called me during Memorial Day dinner to demand payment, saying my payment is 5 days late (it isnt).This company spends a huge amount of money paying people to call anyone who is in arrears to threaten them with reposession, sometimes up to three times a day! They call on Sundays, holidays, late at night, anytime they think they can annoy you the most.

When I bought this property, I made sure I obtained a mortgage thru someone other than the infamous 'Green-Team' under their various names. But BankAmerica was bought out by them and they now own the majority of mobile home mortgages.

I've done some checking and most people I know have had the same experiences I have in that this company cant seem to cash a check til the late charges set in, never have the same person to talk to, even if you just talked with them, cant get any internal communication straight, have intentionally screwed up their private homeowners insurance so that they can profit from it, then cant even keep that straight and force their own protection policy on you-which doesnt cover your interests, only theirs. I have experienced amost every situation reported here except actual reposession and the circumstances are to familiar for them not to be true.

This company has used their poor recordkeeping to besmerch the reputations of all mobile home buyers, saying we have a terrible default record. I question how many of these were properly-researched loans to begin with, and how many people have just walked away to get away from the harrassment. It's hard to believe these people are not in violation of many, many laws regarding financial transactions. Apparently, Congress does not feel we deserve the same protection as any other citizen, simply because we bought a mobile home.

I would advise anyone wanting to buy a mobile home to NOT DO IT!!! It is almost impossible to gain financing without having to deal with these people. Once they have you in their clutches, you will have your credit record ruined, your life disrupted and you will never be free of their harrassment until you manage to pay off your loan (which I will be doing shortly, Thank GOD!).

Everything reported is true and my family has to endure this torture from these people. I also agree that this company holds checks to make sure they are late. They call and harass 24-7. They will lie and tell you that they will repossess your home when you are not even late. they charge you insurance when you already have it and have to waste your time trying to prove you already have coverage. I WISH someone would start a class action lawsuit because you can count me in!
