Groupon will NOT do the right thing, and is expecting us to be out $1,500 for a prodcut which they never sent to us!  We ordered a 1.5ct Diamond ring from Groupon.  My wife eagerly awaited the delivery, for which we received a 5x7 envelope shoved in our mail box - not even registered mail or signature required.

My wife carefully opened the envelope on the kitchen counter.  All what was inside the envelope was  a black ring box, covered with a cardbard "groupon" sleeve.  Nothing else.  We were expecting the "certified" paperwork to be included with the package.  My wife took off the sleeve and opened the box (eagerly) and her heart about stopped NO RING.  The ring box was EMPTY!! She removed the bottom part and looked underneith - nothing.

Needless to say we called Groupon customer service immediately to report this and took photos of what we got in the mail - an envelope and ring box - but NO RING.  We have emailed Groupon and called them a number of times and they launched what they called an investigation.  We suggested calling the police, and were told not to.  We told them we would sign an affidavid or take a lie detector if needed.

The nighmare continued, with the third party company who "shipped" the ring said "it was in a small plastic envelope stapled to the packing slip inside the envelope" and that "perhaps it fell out" - really?  We had already told them there was nothing in side other then the righbox, which was EMPTY!

We sent them photos.  We called again.  Then we recieved this email from Groupon which basically said that the suppler said they are not missing any in inventory, so they can neither send us "another" ring, nor could they refund our money.  In other words - too bad, I guess you are out $1,500 Mr and Mrs Valued Customer - thank you for playing!

Keeping in mind that what most likely happened is that someone in the shipping department simply lifted the ring, and sent the empty envelope to us. I get it - they sold x number of rings and their inventory matches.  That may be - however, it does not proove that we actually had a ring in the box, in the envelope.  We can however, testify and take lie detector - so in fact we are willing to "prove" that we never received it.

The story here is BEWARE of sending GROUPON your money!  The SAME THING COULD HAPPEN TO YOU - and you will be out money.  I am interesting in a class action law suit against this company.  I will not go quitely into the night.  I will fight each and every day for them to do the right thing.  Please help  with your comments and stories.  I want to know how many other people have had this type of nightmare from this company (GROUPON) which obviously, DOE NOT REALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!

Im willing to bet even money that it was the SHIPPING COMPANY EMPLOYEE who swiped your ring. I have seen it too much working in retail. As someone who has had to ship with ALL of the major carriers, I have found that the shipping company has some of the most dishonest people on the planet!!! So GROUPON isn't responsible BECAUSE it went into a third parties hands. THAT is why they are not issueing a refund. Im thinking YOU will have to take this up with the shipping company. Let me guess, YOU picked the cheapest shipping with NO INSURANCE? The major question I would pose to YOU is this, WHY would YOU expect a company to resend YOU another 1.5k ring? If THIER inventory matches up then its more then likely on the shipping company. THEY are the LAST RESPONSIBLE PARTY who handled YOUR item. Why is it ALWAYS jump on the sender WITHOUT factoring in the shipping company??
