GSC / Old Buckingham Station Apartments Forges documents and waits FOUR YEARS to go to court, then lies under oath Midlothian Virginia
We moved into Old Buckingham Station Apartments in 2004-2005. As soon as we moved in our 3 year old son began having respiratory problems atleast 3-4 times a week and ended up on a nebulizer. Our apartment leaked several times and the molded holes were not fixed. The office agreed to do a mold test on our apartment and then REFUSED to give us the results but simply told us that we couldn't get out of our lease because we did not have any mold in our apartment per their test.
During this time, the tenants upstairs had parties atleast 5 times a week until 3-5am resulting in alcohol and cigarettes coming through their balcony onto our patio furniture which ended up being destroyed. One night the tenant was found laying outside of my son's bedroom window from a drug overdose and we had to call 911. Still the office manager refused to let us out of our lease.
My son ended up in the ER from a severe asthma attack and that day I wrote and personally told the office manager that we were leaving as soon as we found another place to live. I also wrote the department of Agriculture about the issues we had and they wrote us to say that any and all documents recieved would be on file for three years.
FOUR YEARS LATER, The apartment complex took us to court for breaking the lease. Any and all documents we saved were gone due to the time that had passed. However, in court they lied and said we only complained once and they even went as far as to FORGE A MOLD DOCUMENT with my husbands signature! One of the office personelle even told the judge that she never saw all the holes in my apartment and they only provided ONE of the work orders as well as a work order for a mold test, but still never produced the actual mold test. Because of our lack of evidence given due to it being Four years later, they won in court and we have to come up with the two months we didn't live there.
