GWM, Inc. dba Auto-torium The old spot delivery scam is alive and well. Franklin, New Hampshire
While at this dealership I picked out a car. They did the paperwork, complete with lender, interest rate, payment, etc etc. It all looked great. After signing I asked for the title application so I could register the car. Salesman refused, saying I'd get it only after the loan was funded. This was suspicious, especially since I told them multiple times I didn't want to be spot delivered. They said not to worry, the loan was approved. Sure enough I find that the bank didn't even get the paperwork for 2 weeks (NH gives a 20 day temp tag). That bank refused, then they tried the exact same spiel with the supposed new bank. I told them not to as I was tired of their lies-I'd get my own loan. When I complained the sales manager told me "then bring the car back". Maybe I should have. However, when I went to a local credit union to get a loan I was in and out in less than an hour with a check...at a lower rate. After talking to the NH DMV, it is illegal to not give the title application at time of sale. If the car wasn't exactly what I was looking for I would have told them to stick it. I've found if an employee of this dealer is talking, then he's lying. While this report is only for an attempted rip-off, I'm sure they've scammed many others and is just a warning.
