I applied on INDEED Jobsearch for a vacancy as Trainee Manager Business to Business Advertised by Halast Media Warrington. Had Interview at Halast Media, Warrington Business Centre, Gilbert Wakefield House, 67 Bewsey Street Warrington WA2 7QJ. I was then subjected to an elaborate Sales Pitch for Advertising for Small Businesses which seemed like a great idea but when I asked about pay I had to keep asking and finally with after repeated attempts to get a straight answer it turned out to be a SELF EMPLOYED ONLY ON COMMISSION COLD CALLING POSITION . Meaning No Sales No Money. He made it sound so easy that everyone is signing up for their unique advertising so then why don’t they pay a proper wage if it’s that good. I’m not prepared to risk working for weeks without pay.
He wouldn’t have told me this if I hadn’t persisted and I could very easily have been misled into working there thinking I’d get a wage when in fact there’s no backup if I don’t get sales. I looked into the company who also go by Northwest Homecare LTD and Total Homecare Ltd are owned and operated by Gary Pridham . Turns out this man used to run a pricey hoover scam. (See Link) He and some of his colleagues moved on to this as people aren’t falling for the old hoover pitch anymore. And now they’re using the same misleading advertising and interviewing techniques to rope people into this media sales scam. BEWARE Same people Same misleading Tactics! I’ve reported this as as scam to Indeed as it was a complete waste of my time attending the interview at a business centre where they only rent a room to do interviews thinking it was a real job. Also beware of the same Job operating as Halast Media Preston, Halast Media Liverpool. As Director of Halast Media UK I would like to clarify a number of points in this report.
Firstly, I would like to thank you for bringing a number of things to our attention which we have now
addressed and rectified. The job should not have been advertised as a trainee manger role as it is an AV Digital Specialist role. It was not clearly defined that Northwest Homecare Ltd is simply an Authorised Distributor of Halast
Media, not Halast Media Warrington (as this company does not exist).
To clarify, Mr Gary Pridham runs his own independent sales and marketing company from which he
markets a number of products of which ours is one. He does not own, run or have any vested
interest in Halast Media.
In respect to the rest of the claims, they are simply untrue. OTE (on target earnings) is universally recognised by sales professionals as being a commission based role and is not misleading in anyway. ALL successful applicants are required to go through a stringent on-boarding process before we allow an authorised distributor to employ someone to represent
the Halast Media brand. This includes collection of proof of identity, police check and the signing of an extensive contractors agreement which clearly outlines the responsibilities of all parties involved. In short, to insinuate that you could have been misled into taking a job without knowing the conditions is baseless and untrue.
We would however like to apologise if you feel that you wasted your time attending a short first interview and wish you all the best in your search for new employment.
We would also kindly request that if you have any further issues with Mr Pridham that you address him directly and refrain from mentioning the Halast Media brand. As one of the world’s fastest growing media companies, we take our reputation very seriously and any further slanderous comments will be handled by our legal team.
