I purchased a Khaki Field watch for over $800. It is supposed to be water resistant to 5 barr (over 150'). I capsized my canoe in water I could stand in. The watch got water under the crystal. I took it in for repair (it was about 7 months old). It took 2-3 months (lost count) for me to get it back. About a month later I took a shower and forgot to take it off, then cleaned my pond for the winter (2.5' deep) on the same day, so don't know which, but it leaked again. As per the 2yr. warranty, I requested an exchange for a 10 barr watch with a screw-down crown. The store I purchased it at, Rogers and Holland, says that the company says they will not exchange it. Never buy a Hamilto watch. They look nice, but obviously don't perform as listed and the service is lousy to non-existent and they don't honor the warranty anyway.

I need to add to the report, that Hamilton did eventually contact me directlly after I reached out via an email and did replace the watch with another that cost $300 more, and I paid the difference. They were quite helpful. In retrospect, it was the jewelry store, Rogers and Holland in Green Bay, WI that was the barrier. They did not return my calls, which caused me to contact Hamilton directly. I was given conflicting information (relative to what Hamiton told me) by Rogers and Holland, so perhaps, the ripoff report should have been filed against Rogers and Holland instead.
