Hanlees Hilltop Toyota ripoff, cars, lemon Richmond California
I bought a used 2000 Honda Accord fron Hanlees Hillto Toyota in about April, 2005. When I bought the car there were many spots where touch-up paint had been applied to the car and the SRS lights for the air bags was on. I purchased the car under the agreement that both of these problems would be fixed shortly after my purchase.
I continually was callling trying to get my problem taken care of and my calls were not being returned. When someone finally did call me back I was put off for a very long time. Their excuse was that "the paint guys were not there."
My car then starting dying very easily. If the car was off and the lights or radio were on for more than 5 minutes, the battery would die and I would Have to get a jump. I then dropped my car off to have this problem along with the paint and SRS lights to be fixed. The next morning I recieved a call from the service center stating that they were working on my car and were almost finished. Two days later I was allowed to come pick up my car and there had been ABSOLUTELY NO work done to my car. I was livid and just took my car.
About a month later the car was still dying so I brought it in a second time! This time they had the car for a week or so and told me that I needed a new alternator belt and it would cost me $78 but my car would no longer die. I told them that I would have it fixed myself. They then proceeded to tell me that I would have to drive my car to El Cerrito Honda to have them fix the SRS lights under warranty. After complaining to the mananger they transferred it for me!
Two weeks later I came to pick up my car. When I was brought out to my car it was covered in mud, dirt and sap so bad that I could not even see through the winshield!!!! My SRS lights had been fixed and they had sent it to be repainted however there were dried drip marks, bumps, the paint was a different color and not all of the paint had been fixed! And on top of it all they hadn't fixed the code for the radio for anti-theft feature.
They ended up having me leave my car for another 2 weeks and gave me a rental car. After 3 days of having the rental car the door on the driver side would not close. I brought it back and got another rental. After 2 hours of having that car ist started shaking and the service engine light came on. Then I finally got one last rental car. When I called later and was speaking on the phone with one of the managers he started screaming at me that they were not painting any more of my car.
When I came to pick up my car the final time the paint job was a lot better but I could not get a great look becuase it was dark. I told the manager i would be in touch with him in the afternoon when I could see it in the sun! The next day I looked at my new paint and there was a ton of scratches, what looks to be like superglue on my hood and now my light for the clock no longer cmae on and the lights on my geart shaft rarely turn on at night.
Ever since then I have been calling the manager back to get this fixed and rarely hear back from him. it has been a month since they painted it last and I finally got a message today saying that he has done all that he will do for me. He was extremely rude since he was upset that he had gotten my voicemai. i was in class and i always get his voicemail. what is the difference??? I keep requesting for the manager's boss however he claims he doens't have one.
I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER CAR FROM HANLEES HILLTOP TOYOTA AGAIN!
