Harford Village Apartments - Warwick Associates SUBSTANDARD APARTMENTS and SUED FOR RENT THAT WAS NOT DUE ripoff Bel Air Maryland
I moved into an apartment (being a newly single mother) and was not allowed to see the apt. before I moved in. When I moved in I noticed black streaks running down the walls in the mechanical room and then, as a month passed, black streaks running down all the walls as it bled through the paint. MOLD! The lock broke on my door one night and the maintenance man came and took it out, but didn't have a new one, so he told me he would bring one tomorrow! I was suppossed to leave my door unlocked, alone with my little girl all night?!?!
My washing machine didn't work, so they ordered a new one and a few weeks later delivered it to my living room where it sat, uninstalled, for another week or so. Then when they did install it, the hot and cold were reversed and it sprayed hot water all over the floor. I asked for a new apartment because of the non-stop asthma attacks and brochitis from the mold and was told by Arlene that it was becyase I had some wet towels on teh bathroom floor. (From that morning.)
They gave me the option to break my lease and move out immediately or move to another apartment. Since I needed a place to stay, they moved me to another apartment with 2 days notice, which was just as much of a dump.
I gave the required notice (30 days) to terminate my lease per our agreement and now they are suing me for rent! I drove by and someone was living there 2 weeks after I left! I left my electric turned on b/c I knew it would be an issue and I would have to pay for a moldy fridge, etc. and now my BGE bill is over $500 for another resident.
I've reported them to both the BBB and Attorney General and neither have had any response. I will, next, report them for unfair debt collection practices with the FTC.
