Jason and Kim Hebert advertise for drivers for their expedite trucks located in Amsterdam, New York by claiming they "are not micromanagers." The sales pitch over the telephone is friendly, the "contract" they send you looks fine, and you agree to give notice at the company you are currently working for and fly or drive to New York to pick up your vehicle.

Mrs. Hebert fails to pick you up at the airport on time, claiming she got lost (and then tells you she grew up in the area). Mr. Hebert pulls up in his parents' yard with the truck in question saying that several things are still wrong with it and we will just "have to live it while we drive it" and "if you can fix it, go ahead."

We signed the contract as it was emailed to us, they left in another truck and we sat in his parents yard until a dispatch offer came.

The truck broke down several times in the first 60 days, and we received at least 5-10 calls, messages, texts, etc. from Mrs. Hebert daily asking us where we were, what highway we were on, why did we accept a load, why we should sit in an area for up to a week to meet their criteria, claiming they did not have enough money to maintain/repair the truck because they had 2 others to run also, etc.

We would text questions to them or leave messages on their phone to clarify a concern or ask about a load offer, only never to get a callback because Mrs. Hebert claimed she was "too busy playing Farkle and Bejeweled, and too tired to answer calls."

After shorting us pay and later admitting it saying their computer had "misprinted the agreement" and "they had a right to keep some of the money", threatening to turn off the fuel cards and have us park the truck on the side of the road loaded on Christmas Eve, and exhibiting a new car under the Christmas Tree while we were being shorted pay, it was agreed that Mr. Hebert would now wear the pants in the family and be our contact.

We lasted a total of 3 months with these people and the maintenance issues with a DOT Unsafe vehicle and told Mr. Hebert we would be taking it to the garage of his choice in New York for repairs. The day before we were to arrive in New York Mrs. Hebert calls and tells us things are not working out and to turn in the truck and keys within 24 hours! We live 3500 miles away.

We returned the truck to the specified shop, had the employee there sign off and inspect the vehicle (their relative) and rented a vehicle and left, leaving in the truck after showing it to the employee, a bill for $1150 worth of mechanical repairs we made on the truck with Mr. Hebert's knowledge and agreement, and a list of loads that had been successfully completed.

The Heberts failed to acknowledge the amount due and told OOIDA (the national Independent Truckers Association) that they had no intention of paying even though Kimberley Parks Hebert admitted to them they had received full payment from the carrier but because they "had issues with us" they didn't feel like paying.

A month later one third of the money due was deposited into our account with no accounting for the balance or why the $1331 balance was not being paid. We hired an attorney firm to pursue the debt and to this day Hebert Transportation and Kim and Jason Hebert have two other teams driving for them with the danger of being stiffed at the end of their employment.

This message is for any drivers out there seeking employment as a self-employed contractor to protect yourself at all costs and make sure you avoid Hebert Transportation, LLC, Amsterdam, New York and Jason & Kimberley Parks Hebert if you want to keep your paychecks.

Words to remember: Liars, Incompetent, Less-Than-Business-Like, MicroManagers, Non-Communicative (Mrs. Hebert has a speech impediment and fails to upgrade her telephone to compensate for the difficulty, she also claims to have para-legal background as a form of intimidation); Mr. Hebert does not communicate even though he claims he wants the communication; FICKLE, Cheap.

We have given them 90 days to give us our earnings or an explanation as to what charges they claim to have had to not pay us. They have FAILED.
