HH Gregg ripoff mistreated and ripped off Cleveland Ohio
I went to HH Gregg on 10/18/2002 and purchased a GE Refridgerator. I read the refund policy (or thought I did). It stated that refunds would be given within 10 days for goods returned in the same condition in which they were delivered. The day after I purchased the refridgerator I cancelled my order before they ever had a chance to deliver it. I was told to come to the store to pick up my refund. Well upon returning to the store, I was told that my refund would have to mailed from the corporate headquarters and would take anywhere from 10-14 days from the date ordered. I explained to them that I had paid CASH and expected CASH back! they were quick to tell me that they could not give that amount of cash back.
The next day I called the Corporate office and was told that it was up to the store whether or not they would give me cash or order a check I also called another store in the Cleveland area and was told the same thing that the corporate office had told me, however; the store manager disagreed and ultimately ordered me a check even though i told them that the reason I needed my money back was for an emergency. He just didn't seem to care and continued to say it was corporate policy although the corporate office said that it was not...
I spoke to the Attorney General's office and was told that with a policy of this nature,the sign must be posted conspicuously and when I was shown the sign, it was hidden behind other advertisements on a counter and the clerk had to get it out to show it to me.I think HH Gregg uses those rules to treat different people differently.
