While in search of a "biker bell", (also rider bell, demon bell among other names) for my boyfriend's new harley, I came across HD@rt on the internet. I was impressed by the many design choices of the bells, and anyone who claims to be affiliated with THE Harley-Davidson wouldn't DARE be a ripoff, right?

I order my item, receive my e-mail confirmation, and all is well...or so I thought. My first concern was that I couldn't check the status of my order with the link in the e-mail. It takes me to Yahoo shopping, wheich states that I have no orders. According to that site, it could be that i wasn't signed on when I ordered.

No biggie, I have my e-mail confirmation, right? Besides, when I click the link, the order page also has a customer service link for HD@rt. I e-mail them, asking when I can expect to receive my item, and that I couldn't check the status of my order.

No reply.

In the mean time, I had bought a used car and was checking my account to see if the auto dealer had cashed the check. As I'm scanning through recent transactions, not only do I see the check for the car I bought, I see an amount equal to what I had been charged for the biker bell I had ordered from [email protected] the company who received my funds was NOT HD@rt, it was The Crystal Bar, located in Alpine, TX.

Now, originally I was under the assumption that HD@rt was located in Ft. Davis, TX. This is what the confirmation e-mail stated. However, upon checking the web site, it seems THAT states the location as....can you guess?....Alpine, TX. It's been almost a week at this point since my order was placed. This is when I called them to see what was going on and where the HECK is my order?! No answer, I get the answering machine, so I leave a message. I have yet to receive a call back.

As of today, it's been over TWO weeks; no shipment, no call back, no reply to my e-mail. I sent another one statingI wanted my money back, that I do NOT appreciate my money going to a BAR!! thankyouverymuch, and that I don't think Harley-Davidson would appreciate having their reputation marred by such a lousy company. Think I'll get a reply?

Shortly after sending the latest e-mail, I decided to do a search online to see if there was anything I could do about online company ripoffs, which brought me to this site. I soon read the report from Ben of Bristol, Wisconsin; I knew I had been screwed.

A rebuttal on Ben's report suggested contacting the Alpine, TX Chamber of Commerce. You can bet I will.
