I was already a little frustrated knowing my financial aid refund would come within 30 days after the start of my classes because I needed to buy textbooks which have been hard to work into my current budget... among other things but those are the most expensive.
Despite submitting photo copies of my social security card, military ID, and my passport (reluctantly because of security risks) it's been 2 full days and I have yet to hear back from this company about lifting an 'identification hold' in order to access my money.... which was set up in MY NAME AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER! I understand the need for security but I can also see when I am being scammed.
I've heard twice that it will be done tomorrow by close of business, but I worked in a call center prior to joining the military and I know that supervisors will say anything to pacify the customer and get them off the line so god only knows when I will be able to actually access my account. She told me that the department who handled verifications was currently closed and no one can override their hold, and this is a huge crock of s***. She claimed it was because my military ID did not have my current address on it. Excuse me, my federally issued government military identification doesn't contain a mailing address possibly because they're forcing me to move to 4 different states in the span of 2 years, dips****. THIS IS WHY I AM GOING TO SCHOOL ONLINE AND CHOSE TO USE AN INTERNET BASED FINANCIAL INSTITUTION.
I am literally 7 chapters behind on reading in one class because I refuse to pay out of pocket for a 100 dollar textbook that financial aid is meant to cover...
this is absolutely ridiculous. how is this legal?
