I received a marketing postcard from a marketing company representing Highland Resorts congratulating me for being selected to receive a complimentary stay at the historic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO for 3 das and 2 nights, and a $100 Restaurant.com gift card.  I was curious as to what the sales pitch would be, so I called and spoke with a women who indicated that all I had to do was sit through a 90 mins sales presentation for the Highland Resorts properties at the Denver Merchandise Mart.  No obligations.  She asked a number of questions, speically salary.  I told her I was retired and my income lower than the category she requested.  She proceeded to try and schedule a sales pitch date. I interrupted her and indicated that I would talk with my husband and call back.  She said she could hold the date.  I said no, and I would like to call back. Her voice grew louder and she said, " I did all the work and I want the commission."  I said no and I would call back, thank you.  Her closing words were, "you have no cares in the world, ignorant".   Well, isn't that an influencing sales pitch. I proceeded to look for complaints about this Highland Resorts marketing pitch. Thank you Ripoff Report.   Looks like a scam to me.  I thank this woman for being so rude, as she pointed out this scam very quickly for me.

Do not pursue this complimentary stay at the historic Stanley Hotel deal.  Nothing is free.
