I purchased via ebay auction a THinkpad laptop. I will clearly state here before I go on that I did get exactly what I paid for, no complaints about quality or anything along that line.

However the auction was mis-represented, starting with the auction title:

IBM Z60M PM 1.86GHZ/2GB/60GB/COMBO/WIFI,XPPRO,2531-W2A

This indicates that XP Professional is included, but it is NOT. What is included is the XP sticker on the bottom of the laptop. This would be fine if Hitech did not entirely wipe away the recovery partition which held the LEGAL XP version that was sold with the laptop. I contacted IBM (LENOVO) about this and since the laptop is out of warranty, they will not provide the recovery CD's to restore the legal XP Windows. They did state that there is no reason for anyone to ever delete the recovery partition, as it is considered part of the machine. At this time I now have a perfectly good laptop with no operating system, so it might as well be a paperweight.

Secondly, hitech stated that the unit comes with an AC adaptor, which it did. However the Adaptor is a jacobsparts.com BRITEON knockoff. This adaptor lasted about 3 days before it melted into a pile of goo and destroyed part of my desk.

Lastly, I have tried to contact hitech online several times now, and of course, there is no response. Their auctions state:

TESTED AND WORKING AS DESCRIBED.

GUARANTEED NO D.O.A.

But apparently once they get feedback & your money, that no longer applies. In the end I have a useless laptop and no way to power it.
