Home Depot Services and Customer Service Terrance Huey Home Depot does not uphold its service contracts Internet
Home Depot Services - We had bathroom tile done in our shower and floor a while back when Home Depot. We went with Home Depot as I figured they'd at least have reputation to uphold. Boy was I wrong! When we signed the contract we were promised a $1000 gift card for signing that day with them as well. The tile looks great, HOWEVER, the installers didn't relevel the bath tub after they did the demo and now water leaks to the floor everytime the shower is used. We were told that there would be no resolution as the we didn't buy a tub from them, as it was out of their scope (hard lesson learned although I would assume that levling the tub would be common knowledge). I've since learned that Home Depot disbanded that group (although I notice they still offer other types of services in the stores), and we've yet to get our Gift Card. Have been following up with Terrance Huey in Customer Service for several months. At first he was responsive while he said he was investigating what happened, but in the last month he has not responded to calls or email, and has efused to escalate to his management upon my several repeated requests, there are no returned calls or emails. It seems that since they let all of the folks involved go, they can't verify what happened. However, I sent Home Depot Customer Care a copy of the contract which clearly states the gift card. I've always been a big fan of Home Depot, I'm even an optimistic yet disappointed share holder, but have become very dienchanted and will think twice going forward about going across the street to Lowes or a little out of my way for Menards in the future. I will also be going out of my way while in stores to share this plight with people listening to Home Depot employees sell other servces as the do on weekends in the stores.
Use caution if Home Depot tries to sell you services in their store, they don't follow-through and their Customer Service, at least in this case, is unresponsive.
