Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I hired Home Depot on 9/25/06 to install new kitchen cabinets. Their guarantee; 6-11wks to complete & 100% satisfaction. The 1st problem was ordering half the cab. the wrong size, at 6 wks we were still waiting for cabinets to arrive. They put us through 4 sets of installers, the third being a bunch of druggies who had no idea what they were doing, & they put over 30 scratches on the cabinets. They were there for a few hours & left, asking me to sign a paper saying they were finished, they told me they wouldn't get paid if I didn't sign. We then went for 3 months - 90 straight days, thru the Holidays with no kitchen at all and no word from Home Depot; no sink, stove or place to fix food or eat. We are a family of 5; we were out the extra expense of take out foods and micro meals to fix & eat in our living room.

TEN months later, we still had scratched cabinets, 1 counter top had a 2 inch gouged area, one fridge side panel was still not upgraded as ordered, the sink was not installed correctly, 1 upper cabinet is split on the front frame, stove vent doesn't work, and there is a heat vent coming right up under our garbage cabinet (stinky).

Dave Cannon, Zone Manager & Stephanie Canary, Kitch. Manager both promised us compensation. We've spent 2 years writing letters and making phone calls, we have been lied to & insulted by the management of Home Depot. I was told on Nov. 14, '07 by Josh Hendershot, Cust. Serv. Rep. they wouldn't come back and fix anything.

Finally, we turned to the Home Depot Credit Services/Citibank, at first they removed ALL charges, as per their "Special Rule for Credit Card Purchases", "If you have a problem with the quality of goods or services that you purchased with a credit card,...you may not have to pay the remaining amount due on the goods or services", but then later they reapplied $4,828.73.

After two full years of this insanity, I have gained 20 lbs, my LDL cholesterol levels have spiked over 40 points (due to the stress) & I will NEVER be able to enjoy my kitchen; it is constant source of irritation, especially every time I notice a spot where the finish was knocked off by installers #3. I expected so much more from a company as large as Home Depot, I certaintly never expected to be treated the way we were.
