My wife and I decided that we wanted a decorative sign for the front of our home with our house number prominently displayed. One of our neighbors has one, and I found a similiar one on homegardenandpatio.com. I found the same sign at several online retailers, but homegardenandpatio.com had the best price. Their estimated shipping time (4-6 weeks) was slightly longer than other (1 or two weeks) but the price difference made up for it.

Here is where my problem began. At about 5 weeks I began to try and check on the status of my order. I sent 2 e-mails and received no response. I tried to leave a message and received no response (this was after the machine told me the day before that it was full and could take no more messages). I clicked on the supposed "track your order" link in the e-mail they sent me and it just took me to the main page. I would also like to point out the during this entire process I have never spoken to a live human being. The answering machine sounds like it is a home answering maching and is definately not a professional system.

After several more e-mails and phone calls I receive an e-mail that went a little like this:

The shipment of the item you ordered has been delayed due to backorder (this was never indicated in the previous 6 weeks by the way). We will ship your order in 1 to 2 weeks.

Well guess what?? 2 weeks pass . . . nothing. I tried calling again several times and left several messages. I e-mailed several times with no response. The last message I left stated that that if I did not receive a phone call or e-mail by 5:00 Eastern Time this past Monday I would be calling my bank to reverse the charges; No phone call, no e-mail.

To make matters worse there is a change the charge may not ever be reversed because 60 days has passed. My bank gave me a temporary credit but they have to investigate the matter. I can guarantee you they will never get a response from the company.

To sum up:

It has now been almost 12 weeks and I have not received what I was promised I would receive in 4-6 (and then 8 total). I paid these people on day 1 and they have had my money ever since. I would not be suprised if this is a fake shell online site just used to scam people out of money. There is a chance I will never get my money back and I would be more than happy if no one ever purchased a thing from homegardenandpatio.com again.

All it would have take was 1 phone call or a response e-mail from the and this could have all been avoided.

I have since hired additional people to take care of the order processing in case this would occur again (sure hope not - that wasn't fun). Also, please note that we have been in business since 2004 and this is the only period we have had any customer satisfaction issues. My purpose for writing this is to assure all our customers that the problems that occurred at that time are no longer an issue and our customers are extremely pleased with our personable and prompt customer service. I did a search on the Kansas Secretary of State website and did not find this company registered. I called the phone number you provided and did get a recorded message for the company. Lenexa is located in Johnson County, Kansas. You might wish to contact the Secretary of State's office and advise that this company is not registered to do business in the State of Kansas and if you wish to contact the District Attorney's office, you can find that information here: courts.jocogov.org I did a quick court records search and could find nothing under this company name. Unfortunately, if they are selling via the Internet and all of their business is done out of state, no one may have had the resources to file against them. Good luck.
