HomeAdvisor Total Scam for Business Owners / Fake Leads!!! Colorado Nationwide
This company is a complete scam!!!!! My husband received a call from a home advisor sales rep while he was out of town on April 8th - he was very reluctant but agreed to give it a try but he told the rep not to activate his account or start the account until Monday when he was back in town. The rep was supposed to call him to assist in getting his account set up and activated. He never called because he was 'out sick'. Received 4 leads and they were all junk leads with fake names and disconnected numbers. Notified them this morning April 14th to cancel the account and refund the $$ - spoke with Monique who refused to give me her last name. I told her I was documenting who I spoke to and she gave me the last name of Smith (later she admitted that she lied about her last name and will NOT give me her last name). They are refusing to credit stating that we only had 72 hours to cancel. I explained that the account didn't go into effect until Monday as my husband was out of town and that all the leads were bogus! She didn't care - asked to speak to her Supervisor and of course he's in a meeting and not available. Got passed into voicemail twice!!! This company is a complete scam - check out the 834 BBB complaints! Do not give them a dime!!! On top of the $289 they charged to sign up - they are charging a fee for EVERY lead - even when it's clearly a disconnected phone number w/ a fake name!! STAY AWAY...... I AM GOING TO GET A REFUND!

I specifically avoid HomeAdvisor.com when searching for contractors. I had a bad experience with HomeAdvisor.com's referrals. Their contractors refused to stop calling and badgered me for years. I told one guy that I already had the work completed and he made an unscheduled visit to my home to see if I was lying. Fast forward to Today. I contacted what I thought was a local Contractor. The Yellow Pages website had several Reviews and they stated that they were in my city. After making an appointment with them, I began getting multiple calls from contractors stating that they were referred from HomeAdvisor.com. Strange, I never signed up with HomeAdvisor.com. Obviously, HomeAdvisor knows they are avoided, so they set up fake local web pages, then deceptively get your information and set up accounts against your will. AVOID
