Steve Rogers, I gave you an ultimatum that ended yesterday to respond to the failed repair of my 1999 Honda Accord EX.  This is the first wave of many that will be directed at your shoddy auto repair shop (a.k.a Honest Engines/Slicky's) in Zephyrhills.

I took my car into your shop on February 20, 2017, to get an oil leak fixed on a 1999 Honda Accord EX.  It cost $495.83 to fix.

I noticed the car leaking again and took the car in on April 7th to have it aligned and the oil leak checked again.  Your mechanics did not find any issues.

I get the car back again, and noticed it leaking and took it back to your shop on April 12th.  Again, nothing was found.  I am told to get an under-carriage wash to wash away oil residue and that will take care of the problem.

I get the car back again, and I noticed it leaking.  I take the car back again on April 21st, and I am told your mechanic that if you find anything additional then call me and I will decide what to do from there.  I am told the valve cover gasket needed to be replaced because of poor workmanship.

I get the car back again, and I noticed the car is still leaking.  I take the car back to your shop on April 26th.  I am told the oil pan gasket needs replaced and it will cost $267.06.  I get the car back after paying the $267.06, and I still notice the car leaking oil.

I take the car back the end of May, and I am told that several leaks have been found.  Your employee at the front desk tells me it will cost $1,066 to fix.

I had to take my car back 5 times, and the problem is still not fixed after spending $762.89.

Do not go to this shop for car repair service.  Their initial estimates are cheap to suck you in, and then reality sets in.

Steve Rogers, get ready because the next wave is coming.

Customer buys a VERY inexpensive car and brings it into shop with no tag on it and massive oil leaks. We cleaned motor and diagnosed the major leaks and told customer the initial work would be $267.06 but there was no guarantee that this would resolve all of the vehicles problems. On a subsequent visit we cleaned the engine again and found valve cover leaks and some other minor leaks. Once again, we told the customer this is an 18 year old car with hundreds of thousands of miles on it and we will try to do as much as we can. The customer agreed and we put new valve cover and other repairs to the car. We thought this would fix the problem but there are no guarantees on a very used car.

A short while later the car was brought back in and oil was noticed to be leaking from the valve cover. We removed the valve cover to find that there was imperfection in one section of the sealing surface. The valve cover was replaced and oil refilled at no charge. The customer was told to monitor the engine closely and if there were problems to come back in. The customer came back in on several occasions but the volume of oil leaking and the cleanliness of the oil prevented us from finding the leak(s).

On June first in the early morning the customer came back and we discovered that another gasket and some seals were leaking due to normal wear on a high mileage car. The customer was told the work including labor, parts, taxes, etc would be a little over $1000 but due to his prior service history on this car we would give a $300 discount. The customer was very happy and praised our efforts and honesty. The customer said he would drop the car off in the afternoon that same day. Well, things went south very quickly. The customer came back that afternoon and started a shouting match with my manager and threatened physical violence to the manager and the employees on staff. The manager called me on my cell phone and asked what to do. Since I wasn't there I told him to call the Sheriff's Office and get them there ASAP. By the time the SO deputy showed up the customer had fled the scene. A report was made and filed and we figured that would be the end of it all.

I was wrong, as the same day he filed this Ripoff Report asking for his money back and the $1000 for repairs we didn't do or charge for. His next step was to file a complaint with the BBB and after review of the facts the sided with me and closed the case. But, he wasn't done as he then filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles using the exact same letter as he used with the BBB. Upon review of my response the state closed the file in my favor. But, he's not through yet. The customer then retained an out of county attorney to file a small claims suit asking for the $749 or so he had paid for repairs and the $1000 he had not spent for repairs because we didn't do the repairs or charge for them either. The attorney, John S Valenti is representing the customer and in mediation said the wanted the $1828.89 plus $3172.11 in legal fees for this small claims court trial. BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE! THIS FRIVOLOUS CASE OF A WACK JOB WANTING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR REPAIRS ON A WORN OUT CAR NOW WANTS A....JURY TRIAL!
