I signed a contract with J.R. Tart on 06-21-16. He gave me my first load for the next day. The hub miles was 324 miles, and the total pay was $364.38. My cost is about .80cpm. That comes out to $259.20 cost. This is not enough money for a truck owner, and it got worse from here. He gave me another to go pick up for 06-23-16. The pay on this one was $219.42 and $56.00 fuel. My cost on this is around $250. I would be working all day to make around $25. This is a real rip off! I told him I can't work for free, like in shark tank I'm out ! This guy is totally manic and gets upset if you ask the rate. He said he would only tell me how much it paid two times only. It seems he has some drivers that have been with him 15 years giving them all the gravy, and the new guys all the trash! I am totally surprised that no one has written him up before! Stay away from this guy he has a bad temper, and will want you to work free! It's a rip off !

I would also like to add, that the drivers JR Tart has working for him is mostly imagrents from Mexico! They do not know what their cost is, and don't know what they are making. JR Tart is using owner operators as a means of cheep labor ! This is taking advantage ! My rate per mile was really 0 cpm! I never got paid!

JR Tart says 60 % of his drivers have been with him for more than 15 years. This is a big lie! His drivers were quitting him over the phone as he signed me up! He was not paying me the miles from Haslet Texas to Paris Texas, what the miles really is! He also never paid me! He says he is not a perfect man, this is an understatement ! He has a really bad attitude, and gets upset if you ask the rate! He was upset at a driver as he signed me up, because he quit with no notice! The driver had told him he was not that type of person to quit with no notice! The driver quit with no notice because snake in the grass JR Tart would not have paid him! Did I mention he did not pay me!

Noticed the Author of this post is named : John, the only contractor that had this issue with me, well his name is Daniel K., appears he also mis-represents himself. Thought I would search to see if "John" had posted anything about his previous employers, not surprising I did nor was it surprising Daniel posted similar issues with that company.
To address his issues with me; I do have Contractors working for me that have been with me for more than 15years BUT no they do not get the gravy, they get what they have earned, which the opportunity to service our Customers & yes, new contractors are started out slowing to ensure they are able to operate as they presents themselves - simple good business practice.
Pay issue: Daniel ran one day, A SINGLE TRIP, that paid his truck $1.33/cpm (this is per Google Map mileage); when he was dispatched for the next day on a trip that would pay his truck $1.02/cpm (which meant he averaged $1.175/cpm for 2 days) this is when he started his rant about me (yes, I have the text message exchange to demostrate his maturity); as such the relationship was terminated.
FYI : when I tried to get him to come to the office to discuss these issues, well I can't repeat what / how he responsed.
If anyone is interested, I have all this information available for review.
I am not a perfect man nor a perfect company, but I will take care of the Contractors that take care of me & my Customers. At least 60% of my fleet have been with me for more than 10 years and would love the opportunity to have ANY of them speak on my behalf.

It's best to tell them you are going on vacation or that your truck is down etc. This way you can get your money out of them before you quit ! They won't pay you if you give notice, or just tell them you quit!
