When I purchased the Hotelandresortcard.com membership, I have received an emal as part of a discount service which I had used before successfully.  I googled the name of the business "hotelandresortcard.com" and found no scam alerts or reports.  I purchased the package which provided a gas card, a restaurant.com gift card, and the discount card from hotelandresortcard.com. 

Hotelandresortcard.com then send you a voucher for each of these items and you simple follow the instructions to activate each one.  The gas card activation was very easy and the site states that they will mail you the card in 4-6 weeks.  You are never going to get the gas card, It has been four months and still nothing.

The voucher for the hotelandresortcard.com includes a code which you use to receive your discount on "Hilton" exclusive hotel rooms.  Let it be known that they are in no way associated with Hilton and the hotel will act like they never heard of them when confronted, after they charge the second time for your stay. 

I was preparing for my 20th wedding anniversary trip and wanted to do something nice and planned a trip to Puerto Rico.  We were to stay at the Ponce Hilton Golf and Resort.  I searched the site and found the discount and booked my stay, I was immediately charged and sent a confirmation number for my stay.  I confirmed my stay on the Hilton website and everything looked like it was going to be okay.  We arrived at the Resort and the checked in with our confirmation, the front desk confirmed it was a prepayed stay, so everything looks legit. 

Following our stay I noticed a charge on my credit card for my stay from the resort directly.  I called the hotel and after several calls finally got someone who could address my concerns in the business office.  I explained that I had a prepayed reservation and did not understand why the hotel charged me again for my stay.  I was told that the payment method provided by Hotelandresortcard.com had been declined and that the Ponce Hilton Golf and Resort had no way of contacting them, so they charged my credit card, even though they confirmed it was a prepayed stay.  Basically they said it was my problem and that I would have to resolve it with hotelandresortcard.com.

So, this is where it gets even more difficult.  I went to Hotelandresortcard.com site to find a contact number in order to contact customer service.  Well, they do not have a number or address in order to contact them only a "customer service request form."  I filled out the customer service request form several times and received an automated response stating that a customer service representative would respond in 48-72 hours.  It never happened. 

I have requested call back service, to which I have received automated responses to fill out a customer service request form.  I have requested a refund and received an auto reply stating that each vendor has their own refund policy but never contacted me back.  I tried to find the business on the BBB website but it seems that they have done a great job of staying off of the radar of the BBB somehow.  I guess because they have no physical address listed you cannot report them to the BBB to keep others from becoming a victim. 

So to date I basically paid double for my stay in Puerto Rico.  Hotelandresortcard.com has not contacted me back.  Hilton Resorts says it is my problem.  I never received the gas card in the offer.  Regardless, I wanted to make sure others did not fall victim to this SCAM.  Also, I will not be staying with anymore Hilton Resorts because if they cannot confirm venders that use their name even after the customer confirms prepayment with them, they do not deserve my business.  Lesson learned for me is to stick with who I know is a legitamate business.
