I was waiting for my next bill with a statement date of Jan. 22. I called Household on Jan. 30th asking where my bill was. They told me it is probably late to to the weather conditions. I waited until Monday the 2nd of Feb. Called them back. They asked to verify my infomation. My address was changed to an address that doesn't even exsist. I asked how this could happen. They said they received a letter requesting a change of address. I asked them for a copy of the letter. The could not produce it. Someone called the mailroom, and they said they received a change of address from the post office. I said this is not possibe. They said I should close this account, and they would reissue me another card. I told them not to close it until I get to the bottom of this. I then called the post office, and they told me there was no change of address put in. Therefore my address is still the same. I called Household bank back, and talked to a supervisor who told me that my address was changed by the same person that reversed my late fee. He said this took place a few minutes after I got off the phone with her. Also I found out the closed my account and reissued me another card, after I asked them not to. I have now filed complaints with the Fedral Trade Commission, my local police department and the OCC. I am also looking to seek legal advice for tampering with my account information.

I did some research on my account and found that the billing date cycle for my last months bill was for only 29 days, and was suppose to be for 30 days. So that brought my due date up one more day, which made my payment due on that Saturday. Even though household told me the payment came in after 1:00 on that Saturday I was still late. I said that is not true you have a PO Box and mail delivery to PO boxes are processed before 10:30 am. Therefore my payment was there before 1:00 on Saturday. They finally reversed my late charge of $29.00.
