Yes, its Tax season. Yes, its another tax company Rip-Off Report.

H&R Block offers an online tax preparation software called TaxCut (www.taxcut.com) I used TaxCut Premium which discloses in its USER AGREEMENT that they GURANTEE maximum refund or your tax preparation fee back! - this applies only if the other company doing your taxes had identical information as that provided to TaxCut.

This was my second year filling taxes, I used TurboTax last year but switched to TaxCut because of the reputable H&R Block and the low cost: I was in for a surprise.

TaxCut was easy to use, but on the very last step of completing the Federal Return I noticed the refund was decreased atleast 70% compared to last year (no change in Employer, hours or pay increase or decrease as last year) - While I understand tax laws change and modify each year, this high percentage of decrease prompted me to take my return back to TurboTax..

I noticed both programs asked the SAME information, nothing more and nothing less. Same selections were made using TurboTax as I had when using TaxCut. Refund: an ASTONISHMENT - over 10% HIGHER! than last year, more than 2.5x doubled what TaxCut stated. Again, both were provided the SAME! information, nothing changed.

I contacted H&R Block first using their online Customer Service, in which they verified that I had indeed given same information to them as to TurboTax (I had to send them the copy of TurboTax's preparation according to their Maximum Refund policy). The rep 30 minutes of Please Wait.. told me I must call the 800# he provided me and assured me I would be refunded.

800# was called, a representative with Asian Indian accent could barely understand my calm explanation, over and over he would make me repeat, I was not even finished with a full sentence and he would mumble the word "sorry Ma'Am?"

I respectfully asked for a Supervisor, who happend to have the same accent, I again explained the situation. He said he has never heard of such a policy, I was shocked and told him to go to their website, he said he does not have access.

I nodded in disbelief, I requested to speak to his Manager. He mumbled and I heard a click, disconnected.

10 times I have tried, with similar experiences, I have sent emails to their Customer Service Dept, its VPs and even two PR represntatives.

Disputed charge with credit card, but I am in total awe of how H&R Block operates. Yes outsourcing saves them money, but please Hire competent employees who know your own policies!

I have sent numerous E-mails to several V.Ps regarding this matter, and finally recieved an email from Thomas Moore who claims to be Corporate Accounts Representative, who says that their representatives did log that I had called and that notes on my account show "Satisfied" - which is UNTRUE! my matter was not even understood clearly by their reps! I cannot believe such incompetence, I guess this is their way of keeping "satisfaction" rates up!! I have responded in a very calm way and am awaiting their reply...
