Thanks to people like Worst Buy telling me I can apply for, "their" card, a card with their name on it that really belongs to someone else, I paid every last one of my credit cards off and wont apply for any more. My statement isn't so - (egads!) "bold". I wont shop there ever again nor will even apply for credit cards. So, HSBC can suck it down along with Worst Buy and it's army of low-paid employees like you who are so faithful to the steaming pile of ****.

There is a giant pamphlet inside the Best Buy Card brochure that outlines all the details and if you don't read that at all then it is entirely your fault when something about the card you don't like comes to your attention. Further more, I will agree that HSBC is NOT Best Buy. Do a little research before you make such a bold claim: "I won't buy ANYTHING from a company that has hsbc for a finance company." HSBC is one of the largest Banking Groups worldwide and many, many businesses use them for their credit services. You'll be searching long and hard for companies that don't do business with them.

Who reads all that garbage? Maybe a few nerds like the Best Buy employee who responded. All I know is they told me I could apply for THEIR card. They never said it was HSBC and that they (Worst Buy) would be of no service to me later. Nor did they mention that contacting HSBC would be as easy as getting George Bush on the phone. So go ahead and defend your crummy employers. The pile of complaints towards them here says enough.

hsbc IS best buy. hsbc IS acting as best buy's agent. When I bought something from best buy on a 12 month no interest plan, I had to deal with hsbc. hsbc is a rip off credit card company. hsbc takes the money for best buy. I'd mail my payment 12 or 13 days IN ADVANCE of the due date and hsbc would still credit my account late. Both times they refunded the late fees because there's no way in hell a payment takes 12 or 13 days to get to CA from TX and get credited to an account. They were trying to rack up late fees. How's this for a deal? I won't buy ANYTHING from a company that has hsbc for a finance company. Won't do business with best buy because of it. Bought a set of tires and rims from discount tire. Their finance company is GE. When I mail a payment, it takes TWO DAYS to get credited to my account. Now, I do all my electronics shopping at circut city. YOU can thank hsbc for that.

As an employee of Best Buy, I have to say that HSBC bank is not Best Buy, and Best Buy has nothing to do with them, short of them handling the credit card with our name on it. If you look into it, HSBC bank is the credit card bank for most retailers in this country. My suggestion would be to either read the fine print very carefully and read the rules regarding payment, or don't sign up for a credit card in the first place. Those things are meant to make money as well, just like any other business, and they do that through interest, different charges, and late fees. If used properly, the card can actually save you a lot of money. I have used my card there for several years, and have worked there for two, and I have NEVER paid a penny in interest or any other fees. Basically, I am using HSBC banks' money, and it is all because I have read the rules and the fine print. Read it carefully every time or don't do it, that simple. The card has nothing to do with Best Buy. Don't blame them for anything the bank does, unfortunately we can't and never will. It just isn't the same company. Sorry.
