Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I noticed a listing from Hunter Warfield on my credit report for $2,513 and so I sent them a letter asking them to validate it in October of 2006. I also disputed it with the credit bureaus and put a permanent statement on my report indicating this is not m debt.

I still have not received information validating this debt and validating their ability to put it on my credit report. I have sent three total letters, the last of which went out this week. They have all been sent certified mail with return receipt.

Watch out for this company. They don't have a satisfactory record with the BBB either. They simply don't respond.

I am not sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated!!

Notice: "Robert are you an attorney?" is from Tampa

While I cannot be certain, I suspect that the previous post titled "Robert are you an attorney?" was submitted by employee of the company and not a consumer.  Notice that it was submitted by a person from Tampa, which is where Hunter Warfield is located.  If that's the case, then the comment is probably purposefully misleading.

Robert are you an Attorney? Do you specialize in FDCPA laws or did you and some of your friends who have debt out the yin yang sit around and try to figure away not to pay them? FDCPA law says it has to be sent..the company does NOT have to prove they got it, also people write all kinds of things in their letters that if documents are sent then it is just like the company is agreeing with them. Did you ever think of that?? School yourself b/f you go on your tangents or you just might fall off your soap box.

""Technically the validation of the debt may have been sent to your last known address before it was sent to Hunter Warfield. This means it does not have to be done agian."" Absolutely WRONG! Whatever a previous debt collection agency did is irrelevant because it's showing on the credit reports as being YOU FOLKS. The consumer has requested validation from YOU FOLKS and you have not provided it, therefore, the consumer should write to all three CRAs (including a copy of the letter he sent to you folks) and demand the entry be removed per the Fair Debt Reporting Act. Like i said I don;t know for sure but not all accounts require that they send you validation." Perhaps this is so for commerical debts, but not consumer debts. READ the FDCPA employee. The consumer has requested validation per the FDCPA and your agency has not responded, therefore, the consumer should demand the CRAs REMOVE the entry from his credit reports. You folks had your chance to prove the debt, and not surprisingly, you didn't. ""Your best bet again id to just cal in and find out what is going on and ask for validation. You may get you answer right there without any paperwork . best of luck."" Utter tripe! NO TAKING ON THE PHONE! Written communication only. The consumer's BETTER BET is to write to the CRAs to have the entry removed because of your agency's failure to validate the debt and for not responding to a written debt dispute. The consumer should also consult with an attorney to SUE YOU FOLKS for FDCPA violations in District Court!!!

Have you called them directly?

I can't say for sure with your account, but you are better of calling and speaking with an agent. Technically the validation of the debt may have been sent to your last known address before it was sent to Hunter Warfield. This means it does not have to be done agian. Our complience department is usually good at getting this info out if it is legally reuired. I would definitel contact HWI and just ask directly. The dispute validation may have been done already. Like i said I don;t know for sure but not all accounts require that they send you validation. what are you disputing? That it's not your debt(no supposed to be in your name) or that you feel you should pay what they are charging you from the unmentioned client. Your best bet again id to just cal in and find out what is going on and ask for validation. You may get you answer right there without any paperwork . best of luck.
