The HVAC parts industry can be confusing. The gentleman submitted to us a part number from the original manufacture. The manufacture of a furnace does not produce the motors, safety switches, gas valves, etc...for the furnace the sell.
The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) part number and the company, in this case "Fasco, are different. The gentleman submitted the model number from a Trane furance. Trane has its own part numbner and does, as all manufactures do, mark up the price and change the part number. Fasco has it's own number for the same item and HVAC Parts Outlet has a great relationship with them. If we are supplied the correct information we can offer a replaceement item, in fact the same item, at a much more reasonable price.
In this situation we quoted the Trane price and did not have a cross reference for the Fasco. The gentleman did find the number on the motor as we had asked him to find it in order to offer a less expensive replacement. Unfortunately, he was upset he didn't have the information available at the time he contacted us. His frustration led to being upset with HVAC Parts Outlet. He did in fact find the Fasco number on the motor and thus found the item much less than the quoted Trane item. We did in fact HELP him save money by encouraing him to find the part number.
