Saw a flashy video on Facebook advertising skin care samples for $4.95 shipping fees. Went through the confusing and convuluted ordering process. When it came to "terms and services" there was nothing displayed to read. Only a check mark box. I clicked it and went through the ordering process. I wanted a wrinkle cream. In the meantime they ask you if you want an additional moisturizer which I declined but through pop ups and confusing website prompts ended up ordering as well. I wasn't too upset as it only cost $5.95 for the moisturizer. A few days later, the items showed up in tiny little containers. I laughed because they were so small and shook my head for ordering something so ridiculous online. One I didn't fully feel good about ordering once I went through the confusing process. Flash forward to today. I had my debit card cancelled by my bank and flagged for fraugh because some unknown company called "Diamond Beauty" charged my chequing account $135 CAD. I called the bank and they stated that it looked like fraud so they cancelled my card so no further charges could be made. Which I am THANKFUL for because turns out the diamond beauty co is somehow related to Hydroluxe and they charged me the $135 for the wrinkle cream and would have charged another $100 for the moisturizer had my bank not caught it! I called Hydroluxe and got the run around. A very rude agent stated that their terms and services said that they would charge me full price after 14 days unless I contact them to cancel and return the original product. I in no way, shape or form got any indication of this at the time of sign up. I thought they were free samples that I paid shipping on. Even in the initial confirmation emails, nothing was stated that it was a subscription and that I would be required to pay full price, after 14 days. The agent told me they would NOT refund the money and kept referring to the terms and services. I got so frustrated I hung up on them. Email correspondence proved to be useless as well. They have a generic reply that comes from someone else's name each time you email them. TD bank has started a dispute to recover the money this company STOLE from me. I tried to report their Facebook group to Facebook but I can only block them. They're a scam and a rip off and stealing people's money. I really hope someone, somewhere does something! Also, I'll never ever purchase from a shady facebook ad again. I sure learned my lesson the hard way.
