Had the same problem back in the 90's. Car kept stalling and hesitating. Received the same excuses. Bad gas, drive too fast around corners, "oh, you are the type of person who expects to start the car and just go without it warming up. After 6 times Ifiled Lemon Law. Atlanta sent a big wig who asked me "So you want to get out from under this car" I told him "No, I just want it fixed." He was stunned. When Itold him the excuses the Ft. Myers crew was giving; he got angry with them and gave them a code to set my car with. They tried to argue with him that they weren't allowed to use that setting because it was for race cars. He ordered them to go do it. They did and and it ran great from then on. Swore I would never buy another Hyundai. However was given a Sonata as a rental in 2005 in Pittsburgh and loved it. Bought a 2006 Azera. Fabulous car. However, took it back 8 times for the check engine light. Each time they swore they fixed it. Last time I drove 100 feet across their lot and it came back on. I again filed Lemon Law. California Operations called them and told them to replace the engine heads. They found that one of the oil ports had not been drilled out during casting. Put on the new heads and no issues at all since. Jaime...file lemon law. it is the only way they will quit jacking with you and actually fix it. My son was having a reoccuring fan problem and ESC warnings on his 07 Sonata. The A/C fan would quit in the middle of a scorching day. After 6 times, he filed Lemon Law and they fixed it.

WE CHECK ALL THE PAPER WORK ON OUR SERVICE AGREEMENT, AND EVERTHING THAT HAS GONE WRONG WITH THE CAR WAS UNDER THE WARRANTY. THEY HAVE FIXED SO MUCH ON OUR CAR SINCE WE HAVE HAD IT. THERE HAS BEEN ABOUT 4000.00 IN WORK DONE TO OUR CAR. WHY DO THEY KEEP MAKING NEWER CARS WHEN THAY CAN'T GET THE ONE THEY HAVE OUT TO RUN RIGHT. THE SERVICE MANGER TOLD ME EVERY TIME OUR CAR OR SOMEONE ELSE CAR GOES IN FOR REPAIRS UNDER THE SERVICE AGREEMENT THAT THEY LOSE MONEY. THAT IS WHY SOME STUFF IS NOT COVERED. LOOK I AM TIRED OF BEING WITHOUT A CAR HYUNDAI NEVER WANTS TO HELP OUT. THEY TRIED TELLING ME THAT THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR THIS TIME WAS MY FAULT AND I HAD TO PAY FOR ALL THE SERVICE WORK. I ASKED THEN TO TELL ME WHAT WRONG WITH IT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS BAD GAS AND THAT WAS WHAT CAUSED ALL THE PROBLEMS TO THE MOTOR. THE SERVICE MANGER TOLD ME THAT HE WAS GOING TO HAVE THE GAS TESTED AND LET ME KNOW IF THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE GAS. WELL I WAS WAITING FOR A PHONE CALL BACK AND DID NOT GET ONE. SO WE WENT THERE THAT NITE AN D I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO TEST THE GAS BUT HE KNOWS FOR A FACT THAT IT WAS THE GAS THAT WAS CAUSEING THE PROBLEMS IN OUR CAR. HOW CAN HE KNOW THAT IF HAD NOT TESTED THE GAS. I THINK IT IS ALL A JOKE. THEY HAD TO FIX SO MUCH ON MY CAR, THAT THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO PAY FOR ANYMORE. THEY ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO PUT THE BLAME ON US WHEN WE BRING IT IN THERE TO FIX SOMETHING. SO NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO BE SLICK AND SAY IT IS SOMETHING THAT WE HAVE DONE SO THEN IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE SERVICE AGREEMENT. WELL I HAVE HAD ENOUGH WITH HYUNDAI AND WOULD NEVER GET A CAR FROM THEM EVER AGAIN. I JUST RATHER WALK!!!!!!

In your report you said the dealer told you the service plan would not cover the repairs, right? Did you check the service plan yourself? Did you call the people who are the underwriters of the service plan to VERIFY this? Never forget, some car dealers will try to lie to you if they think they can get away with it. NEVER accept what they tell you as true. Check it out independently. Its a sad commentary on the car biz but the business is so loaded with con-artists, slime balls and dealership people who SMELL from fraud and deception that we CANNOT trust them...WE MUST CHECK OUT WHAT THEY SAY. Oh yes, never assume the service manager got his job because he was the top mechanic or actually knows what he's talking about! Often times the "service manager" is nothing more than a former car salesman!
