Have been attempting to follow-up with i-deal direct/Hartford Opinion Group/eSolutions Media after completing the requirements for an iPod shuffle offer. The various comments posted here about i-deal mirror what I have been going through and I have become pretty much resigned to the fact that this is unlikely to be resolved to my liking.

However, what I find most annoying is that i-deal direct links to legitimate, familiar corporations--this is in fact the reason that I decided to apply since I incorrectly assumed that the "sponsors," familiar and ubiquitous, would be easy to follow-up with. So I wonder if Blockbuster, GM Card, Bank of America etc are actually complicit in this fraud?

Is it perhaps worthwhile to make noise with the "sponsors?" (which i-deal requests that we don't contact directly). Perhaps if companies that i-deal direct is linking to receive enough complaints they will have a reason to sever/clarify any relationship with i-deal. I for one am not happy being a consumer of a business that is made aware that they are being used in marketing scams and because they benefit, have no desire or incentive to remedy it. This is more annoying to me than the business practices of i-deal direct.

Legit Companies involved

The reason you see legit companies involved is because the person running the biz is an affiliate of theirs. Anyone can request to be an affliate of just about any legit company. You simply submitt your website and say you want to place their ads on your site and they of course say sure and well pay you $X for every sale you make us. It would do you little good to contact the legit companies as they usually have another company take care of their affiliate stuff. I was scammed by this group too. I was going to give he iPod shuffle to my daughter as a birthday present. Oh well.
