The advertising (with blowhard Billy Mays, of OxyClean infamy) is calculated to induce people who are fed up with high medical insurance costs, to contact ICB (ICanBenefit) for low rates.

In fact, ICB is only a referral service to medical insurance brokers. I have perfect health. Only my age (53) is a rating factor. Supposedly, I "qualified" for several discount, but full feature plans. However, the ICB process only returned the names of these middle to low level brokers.

That's when the incessant phone calls and emails began. One company, in Fort Worth, named ACI, called me 11 times in one afternoon (the day I put in my health information).

Now, because I submitted confidential personal data, who knows where that info went.

Here is from the "about" page. If you go to the info on each link, none of the listed people describes where there health insurance background is, or how they obtained "millions" of customers in this area - other than in sales and marketing, and in franchising.

Having been in the insurance industry for over 12 years I have seen many brokerage shops, agencies, phone rooms, etc. ICan is as professional as they come. 1. Licensed Insurance agents. 2. An excellent database with great security. 3. Founders and employees who care about their clients. 4. Products that really help! The report that was filed was way off the mark. The person who flied the report is very confused as to how ICAN conducts business. I consider it an honor to know the individuals that founded the company and the great employees that work so hard at solving America's health care crisis.

#4UPDATE EX-employee responds

As an ex-employee of Ican Benefits, (fired for not enrolling enough people), I had to mention something about Bruce's comments. First as a side note: I don't like Billy Mays either. Quote: "In fact, ICB is only a referral service to medical insurance brokers. I have perfect health. Only my age (53) is a rating factor. Supposedly, I 'qualified' for several discount, but full feature plans. However, the ICB process only returned the names of these middle to low level brokers." When you call Ican a lead is generated and distributed to one of the many Licenced Insurance Agents,( all of whom work for ICan Benefits) , who call back, usually with in 15 to 20 minutes. The Agent then asks a couple of questions to qualify the call, and then attempts enrollment in one of the Mini-Med insurance policies or directs your "lead" to the Major Medical Department. The Mini-med policies are specificly structured to meet the needs of many people who either can not afford major medical insurance or who have been turned down for major medical insurance for pre existing conditions. Ican sells two categories of plans, Mini-Medical and Major Medical. The mini medical is a limited benefit indemnity plan, not a discount plan. That is the main plan that the Billy Mays commercial is referring to. Quote: "That's when the incessant phone calls and emails began. One company, in Fort Worth, named ACI, called me 11 times in one afternoon (the day I put in my health information). Now, because I submitted confidential personal data, who knows where that info went." Ican is not ACI. Do not confuse two seperate companies. Most likely "Bruce" submitted information to ACI and that is why the "incessant phone calls and emails began". Ican takes security very seriously. All employees that are on the phones in the sales department are licenced insurance agents. Security badges are required by all employees. Cell phones are not allowed in the building. There is an armed security guard who is there during hours of operation. Ican does not sell information or its lists. Information about the backround of the companies founders is available on the Icanbenefit.com web site, and does indeed list the backround of the Managing Members : Harold Shatz, Stephen Tucker, and Samuel Shatz, which does include extensive experience in the Insurance Industry, (Stephen Tucker). Just had to set the record straight. Thaddius Ex-Ican Employee, Mini-Med Sales.I worked at the Comany Headquarters in Boca Raton.
