I signed up for Superpages.com (owned by Idearc Media Corp) service for $15 to try it and was somehow put on automatic billing. It may have been in the small print but this isn't why I'm complaining. Why I'm filing this report against Superpages and Idearc Media Corp is that they refuse to stop billing my card even after several requests to do so. They keep telling me they can stop billing of my card if I pay the past due amount (which is typically small - under $50) but than a few months later they call and again and pitch the same thing (pay us a small fee and they will stop billing) I have done this twice and I REFUSE to be extorted by Idearc and super pages.

So I canceled my credit card they had on file and now I am getting calls from Idearc's billing department stating that they are still charging me for this service and even though the credit card is canceled I owe them $37 or else they are going to report it to collections which would hurt my credit score.

In this latest back and forth they told me the reason the past cancellations have not went through is because I did not mail Idearc a signed letter stating I wanted them to stop billing my card (this was never mentioned by Superpages in the past).

Although several members of Idearc's and Super pages have been trying to scam me and rip me off most of the emails back and forth have been through someone named Joyce - I would post her email or phone number but in her Sig it only says:

www.superpages.com

Here is a handful of several emails I sent to Idearc Media Corp AND Superpages.com to try and get billing stopped and their failure to comply.

This was after they informed me that they were going to keep charging me after several phone calls from me and mine assistant asking to cancel the order.

First email:----------

"I don't want to talk just cancel the order. Your leads are not good and I don't come up anywhere in your results for any relevant searches. This is my second request to cancel the payment the next step would be me contacting my credit card and doing a charge back as well reporting it to the BBB.

-Phil"

2nd email:-----------

"I already had my assistant call and cancel as well as several emails. If you do charge me I will file a report with the BBB and do a chargeback on my card."

In this email I told them I would file a complaint with the BBB if they continued to charge me (This is in 2 months ago and they are still charging me)

3rd email:-----------

Charge me and you will get a BBB complaint and I will have my bank do a chargeback which will raise your merchant fee's. Your move - if you think it's worth it then go for it.

Dear Phil,

Thank you for contacting Superpages.com! Your assistant would not be able to cancel this account because you are the only listed authorized contact. Please contact us for assistance with cancelling your account.

*** Bottomline DO NOT give Idearc Media Corperation or Superpages.com unless you enjoy having your credit card information held hostage and get extorted every month.***

Reporting to BBB is not enough

Its an empty threat. They already know the BBB won't do anything about it. BBB only cares about receiving its monthly dues and will not post any problems against a dues paying member. Look here on ROR - they state this constantly File a formal complaint with the FTC and your local state Attorney General's office. Send to them your WRITTEN demand to cancel and reimburse for those charges they kept taking and trying to take from you via Certified Mail - Signature required. Include copies of all the emails as well.
