I am a senior citizen living on my Social Security & through a state program for low income seniors, I pay a minimum charge for my local phone service. I do not use any long distance & had no one listed as a long distance carrier.

On my Sept bill there was a monthly charge from IDL Teleservices & a charge for an out of area call. These charges more then doubled what I usually pay. I did a reverse directory lookup & did not know the person called.

I called 1 800 433 4518 & someone did say that the charges would be removed, but it might take 1 to 3 billing cycles. This was not very reassuring.

I also contacted SBC, reporting the unauthorized charges & they are "in claim status" for 90 days. If IDL doesn't remove the charge, I'm stuck for it.

On the advice of the SBC rep, SBC is now listed as my long distance carrier. There is no monthly charge & I know they won't let anyone change my carrier without notifing me!
