I called this company after having locked myself out of my apartment and was given a quote of "29.00 minimum". When the worker arrived, he looked at my lock and wrote a receipt for $159.00. He looked confused when I explained to him that if the price range is that large, the quote should include a minimum and a maximum price. He assured me that any company would charge that price for the type of lock I had. As he and I were debating, I contacted another company that had a flat rate of $65.00, but this locksmith told me that I'd either pay him $35.00 for coming out and setting up or he'd call the police. When I agreed for him to call the police so that we could both make a report, he lowered the price (first he couldn't decrease the cost without speaking to his "manager", then he adjusted the price on his own), but it was still $100.00 for a lock that could've cost me $65.00. Then when he gave me the receipt, I noticed that he had used a pencil to make an imprint of my credit card number on his copy of the receipt. When I asked him what this was for, as he had already called in the charge, he told me for their records. Never heard of such a thing before in my life...
My fault for acting in haste while trying to get my door unlocked - Their fault for the misleading quote over the phone.
Before you use them, check with Craigslist - there are licensed locksmiths on that site with lower rates. As a matter of fact, if you can avoid using them at all, that would probably be the best option.
