I live in South-Africa. Thursday 23 July 2005 "Chris Green" called me about a free holiday I could win. He said he worked for Imperial Majesty Vacations. Asked me a lot of questions of myself and about my holiday needs. He also gave me a website and I didn't look at it.

Tonight 24 July 2005 a women phoned me back -she said she is Chantel with a emplyee nr. 151. I won a holiday - to hard to beleive because I never won something in my life. So I let her talk - She told me everything of the holiday and also that I can take my wife as well as 2 other people with me. She talked in a American type accent.

And then in the end she ask me my credit card details. I said I want first the info on paper. I refused to give her anything and told her it sounds like fraud to me - then she hanged up. So I just want to warn everybody to be alert

My father in South Africa was contacted by an American male on August 10, 2005, and also told he stands a wonderful chance of winning a fantastic cruise - was he interested? Yes, he says. An American woman called Jennifer (#141) called a short while later and gushed all over that he had indeed won the cruise. He could hardly get a word in edgeways, and eventually, just to confirm his 'winning' the trip, he was bamboozled into giving her his bank account number and other details. BANG! no sooner had he hung up, than he started to worry about what had just happened. He called my brother in law, who recognized it as a scam he had heard about, and he immediately called Visa International and put a stop on the card. Too late, they had already hit the card for $998.00. He called them back and asked to cancel the trip, but was told that that was not an option. I as contacted by my brother in law, and I called their number in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They gave me the runaround from hell, including the BS story that the credit card number was needed for things that weren't covered under the 'free trip', such as harbour fees and taxes, etc. I asked how could these fees add up to SUCH a huge amount, and he said that the cruise my Dad had won was a VERY expensive one of many thousands of dollars, and this $998.00 was only a minute fraction to cover the above mentioned fees. I may be a fool, but I ain't no idiot, and I know that that excuse is just so much hogwash. The guy, Phil, told me, after I had told him that the card was already charged with the $998.00, that it was just a 'confirmation against the account', and that it would 'drop off in a couple of days'. I will post whether it has, or not. Another interesting point is that in South Africa 'buyers remorse' is 36hrs. I was also told by these ( the 3rd, or 4th person I was palmed off on) jerks that if we wanted to cancel, the original purchaser would have to call them by a certain time (american time)tomorrow, as the 'deal' only 'hits' their computers after that time. That time is VERY conveniently AFTER buyers remorse has expired in the country of purchase. No guessing what their answer will be if Dad calls them! Another interesting thing about these good folks is that they were sued a number of years ago by the Attorney General of Florida, and were forced to repay a bunch of folks. There is still a site up on the internet (will find it and post it tomorrow) giving the Attornet Generals number for folks to call for a refund!! I will be calling tomorrow to see what happens, and will post feedback again. These guys are slicker than mud, and have this scam down to a fine art. Anyone reading this, PLEASE be forewarned! You WILL be ripped off! And Imperial - if this is all a load of bull - SUE ME and prove it! I live in the USA, and am NOT affraid to take you down!

If your company has so many satisfied customers, why does is have such an unsatisfactory record with the Better Business Bureau? (search the bbb.org site for Imperial Majesty, and you'll find out that it's part of Ramada Plaza Resorts... read the page on them) Now... what do you have to say to that??? We recieved an offer in the mail today with a $1600.00 voucher for a 'vacation' for the family if we do this and this... after seeing the many complaints here we aren't even going to take a chance on 'your' company.

He says we called him on july 23 and the 24. well at this time that i am responding to his false allegations the date is July 21 so try again sir. if your gonna make false comments atleast try and get your dates right. He is right about one thing, there is a payment that is due when the phone call is made and its a promotional fee that allows us to run this promotion and if he would have listened to our promotions director he would have heard her tell him this many times during their phone call. How come he misses it but everyone else doesnt. hmmmmm makes u wonder doesnt it.

i work for this company and this man is totally wrong. number 1 we never tell anyone they have won something because what we offer is a familiarization trip. so he is lying there. we offer a great 12 day 11 night florida/bahamas cruise holiday. we have had many south africans as well as people from denmark and ireland register for this trip as well and they are very excited for the trip they have signed up for. it's people like this man who cant get his facts straight that give us a bad name, he only hears what he wants to hear which is usually the wrong thing. if we are a scam then why do we have so many satisfied customers around the world who use us year after year. we answer any questions that are needed to be answered in a courteous fashion. its to bad we never hear from our satisfied customers and not just the people who have nothing better to do but complain about something they dont understand and have no idea what they are talking about. if he would have asked the right questions he would have been told the correct answers like all the people we talk to on the phone. so if u get a call from us at imperial majesty vacations ask us anything u want to know about the vacations and you will get nothing but a straight forward answer that will more then likely put you at ease. thank you an employee of imperial majesty vacations
