Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I recently ordered a furniture item from Improvements Catalog.  It arrived on time in two boxes with a combined weight of 127 lbs., and required hours of assembly (56 pieces).  As we approached the final stage of putting the chest together, we discovered that the drawers did not align properly unless we put them in upside down.  Obviously, the item needed to be returned.

I phoned the company to have the product picked up (after spending hours DISassembling it and getting it back into the boxes).  However, this company cannot seem to get this item picked up for return, and of course, they can't refund my credit card until they receive the product back.  Wow.  That must work out quite well for Improvements; let's see, if they don't pick the item up, they don't have to refund the money!  I get it!  I have called customer service six times and they claim that since they have issued four call tags, it must be UPS with the problem.  UPS claims that they issue a tracking number immediately when a call tag is requested, even though Improvements claims to have no such number/s; they should have four by now.  Here's a thought:  maybe it's time for someone, somewhere, at Improvements to make a call to UPS and find out how to get the problem corrected!  (Does anyone actually THINK anymore?)   Meanwhile, the boxes have been sitting on my front porch for the past eleven days, and counting. . . .

Today, I again spoke to Improvements customer service, who made yet ANOTHER offer to issue yet ANOTHER call tag!  I declined the offer and instead called HSN Corporate (727-872-1000).  I spoke to someone from their "leadership team" who seems much better trained in conflict resolution than Improvements CSR's, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will FINALLY get resolved.  This item was almost $300 and I would like to have this money available for Christmas this year.  I regret that I also anticipate getting the runaround when it comes to receiving my refund; that remains to be seen, as well.

I suggest that, at the very least, Improvements/HSN needs to provide better training, which includes independent thinking skills, for their CSR's.  At this point, it is highly unlikely that I will do business of any kind with this company, or any of HSN's affiliates, in the future.
