In August 2010, after the Easter earthquake, we found our sink had cracked. We contacted InCounters, the company that had originally done the work about ten years prior.

After numerous emails and missed appointments, the installer, Dennis French, called one day and asked if he could come over in the next ten minutes to do the install. This was in January. He
came, did the install, and then socked us with a $1200 bill. The only estimate we had received was a verbal conversation that he thought it would be about $700. He says we never had that conversation.

We protested, asking for a specific invoice. He said he would not give us
the name of his vendor, or breakdown the cost. It was just $1200. We
never got an estimate (our fault, but we figured he'd be honest since
he'd done work before for us. Ha.)

We sent a partial payment of $400 and asked for an invoice. He would not comply. Took it to the BBB. He submitted an invoice from a totally different company "as comparison" to
them (not even from his company!) and they dismissed the case. We never
did get our invoice.

He then emailed and said that if we didn't pay the rest of the money he'd put a lien on our house. Also said if we complained, he'd sue us for slander. So, we ended up paying. Get a written estimate. Don't use this company.
