Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was briefly employed with The Industrial Tradesman Magazine. During my short time there, I was asked to make phone calls to construction companies. The script told me I had to provide a fake name when calling, and to say that my husband was a pipefitter/welder and was out of work looking for a job. I told the manager at the time that I would not lie over the phone. It is against the law. Plus I was seeing the amount of companies that were complaining because of the information being used to print in the magazine.

After refusing to say their script on the phone, I was fired. The excuse was "this is how things have been done for the 13 years we have been in business, and this is what works." The problem is, it may work, you get this information unlawfully, but you are breaking a federal law by not identifying yourself on the phone. Not to mention that you are giving a false story, name, and using this information for print in a magazine that you turn a profit on.

The owners claim to be church going folk, which is more or less just something they hide behind because neither of them practice good christianity. I have watched the owner personally come in, curse at an employee, threaten them, and also fire people without reason or rhyme. They have very bad business practices and do not know how to treat people.

As far as the magazine, BUYER BEWARE, 90 % of the jobs listed in there are not valid, or were obtained through false pretense. To prove it, anytime you call a company out of there that isn't hiring, ask them why they would run an ad for a job they are not hiring for. They will tell you that they did not run the ad and it was ran without consent.

These poor companies do not realize they were taken advantage of by telemarketers employed by the Industrial Tradesman, by lying to them over the phone!

I recommend anyone who has problems with this magazine report them immediately to the Federal Trade Commission! Most of us have already!

Ok, an "employee" came on here and said they never heard the owners CURSE.....I can tell you for a fact that the curses fly ALL the time. Also to say that ads are not posted that are UNAUTHORIZED is completely false. And trying to break down the credibility of the person who posted it... CONTACT THE FOLLOWING COMPANIES AND ASK THEM HOW MANY TIMES THEY HAVE FALLEN VICTIM TO THIS SCAM, WHEN THEIR ADS WERE PRINTED WITHOUT PERMISSION! Agri-Systems Which is just sad, because they actually staff for this company, yet printed ads that were false. The owner had to send them a very expensive gift basket because the guy was ANGRY. ARCHER WESTERN - Just ask their media relations person, how many times their stuff showed up in that magazine, not only unapproved, but for jobs that didnt even EXIST I could go down an alphabetical list here of companies that this has been done to. So don't try to bring down the credibility of people who tell the truth. Call those companies listed above, and ask them for YOURSELF and you will see!

I wonder which event happened, he either freaked out and told an employee to go here and say that it's a great place to work for by either threatening their job, or offering them incentives to "fix this situation". I can see it now...."Find a way to get on there and take that post down....call them...do something". And when he found out it wouldn't be taken down. "Well go on there and sign up, and put something about whoever posted it is lying." I would be willing to put money on it!

Industrial Tradesman--a wonderful place to work

I am a current employee at the Industrial Tradesman Magazine. I don't know what the atmosphere was like before but we have two wonderful owners of this company that are Christian and run this company very professionally and ethically. I have had many meetings with each of them and find no truth to any of this slander that has been said in this previous blog. I communicate with companies that we do advertising and design with and they are all valid companies that have current jobs, and if they don't we place them in a not hiring section or take out the information in their ad, as per their request. I have had a wonderful experience here and see no reason for it to be any different. I do know that if you do not do your job here, like any other upstanding company you will get fired! I can only assume that the writer behind the negative comments made, must be someone who was not performing the tasks required of them. This is a wonderful place to work:)
