When I placed $1000 in my SunTrust Visa account with a deposit in December, I was unaware that the credit account was operated by InfiBank. Within 24 hours of my deposit, InfiBank reduced my credit limit to within a $70 0f my account balance. My Christmas savings was virtually stolen from me, without justifiable cause, by this company's "policy". I contacted SunTrust, whom I have had an account with for over thirty years. Even my most trusted bankers couldn't persuade InfiBank to reconsider and reinstate my previous credit limit. As a result, our family couldn't travel to be with our relatives, nor could I afford gifts for my children, who really suffered most from InfiBank's treachery and greed. My credit score is above 670 and I had no delinquent payments, no garnishments... nothing to warrant the treatment I received from them two weeks prior to Christmas. InfiBank claims that their decision to relieve me of my stocking fund was a high ratio of debt to income, however, no other credit card companies that I dealt with felt compelled to do so. Only after this incident and my complaint to InfiBank and SunTrust did other card companies follow suit. Since that time, three other credit card companies have elected to reduce my credit limit... again based on the arbitrary, biased, and purely subjective belief held by a banking institution that my debt is in excess. How on earth could they accurately evaluate that? The answer is that they can't. They simply have no real or verifiable concept of my net worth. This trend was initiated by InfiBank and since December I have been on a campaign to warn friends. neighbors and others who have unwisely placed their confidence in InfiBank and their partner, SunTrust. If you are carrying a SunTrust Visa card you may fall prey to these (expletives). Your card will NOT read InfiBank on it and odds are you won't find out that you are indebted to the (expletives) until it is too late. My suggestion... RESEARCH! If you currently have credit through an InfiBank account. close it immediately. There are so many scrupulous and truly appreciative companies that would be willing to loan you money if you're creditworthy. It's up to you, as a consumer and a citizen of the US, to put an end to corrupt banking practices. Don't give Infibank a chance to deceive you...close them down!! Finally, I wish to inform everyone that since I have made a concentrated effort to pay down my account (in an effort to close it forever), they have constantly reduced my credit limit...three more times since December! That kind of BS reflects very badly on a credit report. I hope to update this report as long as the mistreatment and credit bashing persists. PLEASE add your InfiBank story of misfortune to this website as a warning to others! Thanks... MadasHell.
