On September 08 2009 I purchased the Phantom digital CATV box advertised at http://www.inphome.com/special.htm for a total of $260 by way of Cashiers check

1 Phantom    $190

C.O.D               10

Shipping           35

Processing       25

-------------------------

Total              $260

They claim Our Phantom All In One Home Entertainment System with 999 Channel Digital Tuner is truly plug and play with TV programming out of the box.

This is NOT TRUE.   You have to call your cable company to have them activate the digital capabilities of the box.   After several calls and arguments with my cable company and finally a visit from them they said that the box was antiquated and would not work with their system!

I very quickly returned the box by US Mail shipped back on September 15 th 2009 as they have aleged 15 day no questions money back guarantee.    This cost me $41.85

The United States Postal Service Delivery confirmation receipt tracks the unit as follows:

Label/Receipt Number: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx

Class: Priority Mail

Your item was delivered at 12:19 PM on September 17, 2009 in BROOMFIELD , CO 80020 .

Acceptance, September 15, 2009, 9:38 am, ENCINITAS , CA 92024

I then called Info Net Product 866-877-8989 and was told that I would be receiving refund shortly.   Two weeks whent by and nothing.   I then called them again and this time they told me that they would send me an email with instructions on how to get my refund.   I received the following email from ftad123 @ on 10/29/2009 11:44am (Pacific)

Dear Customer,

To obtain your refund please send an email to us at [email protected] .   When emailing, please put "Refund Request" in the subject line.   In your message, please put your name, address, telephone number and email address as well as the tracking code you shipped it back under.   Please make sure that you use the information that the product was ordered under when emailing.

Thank You,

Digital TV Express

I replied/emailed back with the information they requested on 10/29/2009 a t 1:08 pm (Pacific)

Today 11/18/2009 I received an envelope with my refund for $152 minus $38.00 restocking fee!!!

I lost $149.85 in my transaction with INPhome/Info Net Products and it took 2 months to get a refund.

I blame this on their false advertisement.   This is NOT Plug and Play.

This 35 pound system is ANTIQUATED!

They also fail to inform you that it requires your cable company to activate the digital features of the box and Cable companies are not going to do this for you.

My suggestion is to buy (((competitor's name redacted)))) and rent a cablecard from your Cable Company for about $2 a month.
