Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I got a family shared plan that came with two phones from Intelenet Wirelss. Each Phone came with two rebates - a $125 customer appreciation rebate, and a $100 customer appreciation rebate. Totalling $250 customer appreciation rebate per phone, making a total of $450 for the two phones.

I mailed in my rebates with the SMALL time window they allow rebates to come in. I had the mails registered so I have proof of everything. One was signed by (ERASMO) and the other was signed by BEAU. Hmmmnnn! quite some names.

Then came excuse upon excuse. All the excuses they sent me were FALSE cos all the information were there.

Some of the excuses were:

1. You did not submit a valid copy of your sales receipt.

2. You did not submit a copy of your UPC code.

3. The wireless bill we received did not show an invoice date.

4. The claim form submitted was incomplete and/or illegible. All fields are required.

As I said before, all the above claims by inphonic was false cos I can disprove all the above points. I still have copies of everything I send to this company.

They made me resend and resend these forms. And I have proof of who signed for every mail. Still they say they did not receive anything or rebate was submitted after deadline.

I called T-mobile since they are my carrier, but they said they can't do anything about it since I did not get the phones directly from them. Then I came online to look research this Inphonic/Intelenet wireless company and to find a small claims court. As soon as I typed INPHONIC into Google...., oh my God!!!! All these results came out aobut scams and ripoffs by this company and its affiliates. Dear God!! what's going on here.

Why are these companies still in business??? IN AMERICA!!!!!

I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get my money back and to take these businesses down.

Anybody at all can contact me on this issue.

Arnold, your report sounds so familiar. The UPC code excuse, and my personal favorite, the wireless bill doesn't have an invoice date, I love that one. Here are a some things you can do: 1) You can file a complaint with the Washington D.C. Attorney General. Go to http://occ.dc.gov and under "Services" you will see Consumer Complaint Form. It is fairly straightforward and only takes a few minutes to complete. 2) You can also file a complaint with the FTC. Go to www.ftc.gov and you will see a "For Consumers" button. Click on the button and there is another button "File a Complaint". 3) InPhonic is a public company and is audited by Grant Thornton in Vienna, Virginia. Send a note to the Auditor In Charge of the InPhonic engagement. InPhonic appears to have some serious procedure/control issues and I can't see how they can be Sarbanes Oxley compliant. Good Luck!

INPHONIC IS BEING SUED -- ACT NOW!

#3Consumer Suggestion

Wed, July 12, 2006

Arnold, In your rip-off report against Inphonic, etc., you asked for suggestions regarding what you can do. If you will read some of the postings here, you will see that the DC Attorney General is suing Inphonic right now because of their misleading or deceptive rebate practices. Almost all the people on this website, as well as all the other ones you saw when you "Googled" the company, are complaining about the exact same thing. I've been all over the web trying to let people know of the lawsuit. The DC Attorney General has jurisdiction against Inphonic because it is a DC-based company. The lawsuit they filed against InPhonic is not just for people who live in DC, but on behalf of all consumers everywhere who have sent them a complaint regarding the rebates. The suit was filed on June 8 or 9, 2006, and the trial is scheduled for September. The AG is receiving more and more complaints every single day. But to be included in the lawsuit against InPhonic, you have to send the DC Attorney General your own complaint. Their website (www.oag.dc.gov) has a complaint form that you can file online, but they've been having problems with receiving some of the online complaints, so they told me to just fax or mail a complaint to them (I faxed mine and they said that they did receive that). You basically just need to tell them who, when, and what. InPhonic is trying to downplay the lawsuit and is acting like it's no big deal. It may not be a big deal if only one or two people sue, but when the Attorney General goes after a business, it's a very big deal. Here is the phone number and fax number for the Attorney General. Phone: 202-727-2102 Fax: 202-727-6546 You can also get the Attorney General's press release regarding their lawsuit against InPhonic at: http://occ.dc.gov/occ/cwp/view,A,11,Q,636576.asp Good luck!
