Instant Checkmate.com Inaccurate, Out dated, and completely useless reports Internet
Do not use this site for researching anyone! I paid for the 6 month service, plus $1 for pdf access plus $10 to get a "premium report" on someone I knew had a criminal record. I received a report with nothing--not even his criminal background--the premium report simply repeated what I had initially received.
To see if it was just a fluke, I tried several friends, my ex-spouse, and myself, so see if it was only one report that was inaccurate. Not the case. With each and every one, there was at least one error, and in 3 cases multiple errors.
The errors included incorrect birthdates, incorrect spouses, no marriages/divorces, no criminal records, incorrect associates, invalid addresses, and many others that are of public record and available on the internet.
When I called to try and get a refund, I was told by 2 different individuals that they do not refund if you use the search even one time, but they did cancel the rest of my services. They also informed me that they can "only record what they are given, and can't be held responsible for information that is not given to them by clerks of the court, or other record keeping institutions." I call that a load of nonsense!
What we are paying for, is a service that is supposed to be accurate, timely, and informative. I could have gotten the same information I paid $82 for by myself for free (actually did--wanted more information, which is why I subscribed to this site).
This is one of the worst ripoffs I've ever seen, and everyone needs to steer clear.
