Instant tax Service Instant tax service charged me 629.95 to do my taxes chicago, Illinois
I went to instant tax service expecting to receive an Ral loan in one day or less only to find out that i was not approved for the RAL days later.I was told by the representative that i will be charged 259.00 to do my taxes again to find out that i have been charged 629.00.I didnt approve that fee from them but somehow they get all of my state return and going to take the rest out when my federal come.That is crazy the representative at the store downloaded one of my w2 forms and told me that I cant get my paper work from him until i submit my original w2 form.Okay I submitted my original w2 form but the fee was not on the form.I called my insight card and spoke to a representative who told me that i was being charged 629.95 and it has nothing to do with them I can file a dispute once they take there funds out.Is there any one i can talk to because this is crazy they are taking all my hard earn money I have 5 children and a grandchild I need all my money.I called the corporate office from instant tax service who told me they have nothing to do with the fees I have to call the store.Now if I cant get help from them who can I get help from Instant tax service is a scam they are a fraud they cheat innocent hard working people out of there money and it is wrong im going to call a lawyer or someone who can tell me what can i do about this... First it's illegal to file your taxes without at least a copy of your W2's. It's also illegal for them to file without you signing a fees sheet. There you would have seen that they would have charged you $629.95, they should have a SIGNED copy. I worked with them for 3 years and had to go as far as having my ptin disabled by the IRS because the owner was filing people's taxes illegally under my name. Since it's a franchise company, "Corporate" won't help you or resolve any situations with the locations.
Secondly, it's illegal for them to with hold ANY of the paperwork from you because ultimately, it is your paperwork and your personal information.
Lastly, Instant Tax Service charges based on how much you're getting back, the more you get back, the more they'll take. I've seen someone get up to 12K back, and saw this person be charged 4k of it. So definitely give a call to your lawyer.

I have not gotten my taxes back yet, however I was charged $400 by an office in the Atlanta metro area. Instant Tax on Covington Hwy in Decatur GA. After she processed everything I asked what the fee was she stated $400. I said that is a bit steep for you processing my taxes in a couple of minutes. So advised her I didn't want to continue and she stated I was too late and she had already processed it. So I was thinking no way!!!!! She stated she was sorry, but she thought I was aware of their fees. I'm thinking....I went to H&R block and paid $95 last year and I was thinking the same thing went for this time sine I was going to a smaller named business. Please tell me what can be done about this situation. I feel this is a rip off and that is not fair.

I am sorry that happended to you also. We need to get a class action lawsuit going of some sort.We too have called them to put in a dispute. Did you file a claim with the BBB? We did please go to BBB.ORG and file a claim against these jerks! Also I am in the process of getting this filed with Lisa Madigan's office (Illinois state Attonery)
