Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Please be wary of this Insure.Com "insure information" company.

I applied to get information on insurance quotes. I got a list of ten quotes which I was quite happy with so I was able to go to my broker with the info. Guess what..this company sells the info to a list of brokers and I had a total of 12 phone calls to work looking for my business which really pissed me off.

This is unethical and is typical of this type of company..exchanging my personal info for profit.

On their site or in the advert in Money magazine, they do advise you that they will pass your personal info on to other brokers.

Please be warned to avoid this unethical site.

Tom.

What about all the people getting harassing hangup calls who never requested information and never went on your website??? I don't even drive and have other types of insurance through my husband, so I would have no reason to allegedly request quotes!!! I never went on your website and requested information, but yet now I'm getting hangup calls from you on my unlisted house phone that I only use for faxes and never give out to anyone. I have never gone on any insurance website and have no reason to, but I'm getting harassed with telemarketing hangup calls, probably robocalls. Tell another story!!

Hi! I just read your complaint about Insure.com. I'm the CEO and I founded the company back in 1984. You complained that you received calls from insurance agents or brokers when you used our free insurance price comparision service. My side of the story here is that our privacy policy is posted and is clear and easy to read: "By submitting your request, you agree to this website's Privacy Policy under which you may receive contact and quotes from Insure.com personnel and/or outside, third parties to assist you." Nobody can use our free insurance price comparison service without first seeing this privacy policy. Sincerely, Robert Bland, CLU Chairman and CEO www.insure.com

Bogus info

Steve from Skokie, Don't encourage people to enter bogus info to research insurance quotes. There's enough of that garbage going on and you just waste a well intentioned agent's time and money. Just know that a company that contracts with multiple companies will be able to hook you up with the best company for your particular situation and get you the best value. They have the power of the independent contracts and get paid by each indivdual company on a % of premium basis with no additional service fees. They know through research which companies have the underwriting to match your health conditions that will get you approved easier and with the best value. This company uses 35 insurance companies to pull from. A good broker will not promise you the preferred rate to get your business but will tell you all possible senarios. If you are truely interested in obtaining insurance use it, if not, waste your time somewhere else. If you have your own broker you trust, use them. If you have to run quotes to show your broker, you've just proved you don't trust them.

I reviewed their privacy policy. There is NO option to not be solicited by outside companies. By going on the web and entering your personal information you are giving Insure.com AND outside insurance companies permission to call you. You are likely to be contacted not only by Insure.com but by a host of other companies that don't have relationships with Insure.com but have been sold your information by them. I called in and was told I am not allowed to get any information over the phone until I give my address and phone number. I also found articles on the web that criticize the site for giving innaccurate quotes (prices given are too low) mostly because they do not take into account the cholesterol ratio that qualifies you for the best rates. So, there is the possibility that one could apply and expect to get the cheapest rate but after going through the process get a much higher rate than expected. In their defense, most people like me would have no clue about their cholesterol ratios anyway. If you want to shop and get the info just simply enter bogus information. But, the prices you see may still not be accurate.

Insure.com, NetQuote.com, LowerMyBills.com, etc......... These are not insurance or financial services companies. These are LEAD GENERATION companies. When you go onto one of these sites and enter your information, insurance brokers, loan officers, whatever....get an e-mail with all of your information. We then call to find out more about your situation and recommend a product. I am a customer of Insure.com and can honestly say, leads generated through this method account for 20% of my business.
