In 2013 I met Brian Chang, owner of Internatioal Auction Gallery of Anaheim, CA. I was to convince my mother to move to WA state. She was not ready for the move until 2016 when she fell and broke a hip. I contacted Mr. Chang no less than four times between 2013-2016 each time he assured me his fee ws 30%. On the day he brought me the contract for the estate sale, I had real estate agent, physical therapist, and care giver at the house. I mistakenly trusted Mr. Chang's word. I did catch one $ figure he wanted, if the sale did not meet his expectation. However, missed a critical add on. The contractr read very differently than what he had discussed withl me. His fee ended up being 70%. Much of the contract he did not honor. He has refused to provide me with proper receipts for items that did sell. Proper receipts are, names an phone number of buyers to verify selling price. He has refused to provide me with proof of advertising, he stated in contract he would do. He was not even at the house when sale took place. His partner, Joel Ramirez, (some one I never met) the liquidator" of items that did not sell was the one collecting $ for items that did sell. Sale took place onNov. 11th-12th 2016. It was suppose to be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. I understand from my realtor the house was being packed up by 1 p.m. on Saturday.I am requesting Mr. Chang reimburse my mothr for the money he owes her; the difference between 30% he repeatly told us he charge and the 70% he took for himself. He has not responded. The dollar amount he owes my mother is $747.40. Mr. Chang practices a form of bait and switch. It is the vulnerable, elderly (my mother is 91 years old) who must make a change quicky, that are robbed of their possessions. Mr. Chang claims the sale amounted to 1842.00 m mother got $542.00 The "liquidator' Mr. Ramirez (or was it Chang) paid $300.00 for items packed up and taken away and no doubt sold. Of that $300.00 Chang took 70%. This included a complete pecan bedroom suite in perfect condition with hand painting, manufacturer Thomasville. We are once again asking for what Mr. Chang owes my mother. We need some strict regulations in this industry; laws to prevent this from happening to others.
