I responded to an advertisement on bodyguard training and employment. I was contacted by a company by the name of Omni Institute and was given a lot of information about the field and then I was told that I had to pay an upfront fee for their services of about $400.
I asked if there were any other fees and I was told "NO" and to contact the person I was instructed to call. I was then given the name of Mack Harper out of Dallas, Texas and was told that he would be my employer and trainer.
I made contact in accordance with my instructions (all cloak and dagger stuff) and then I was told by Mr. Harper that I needed to pay $300 dollars up front for fees and advertisements within 10 days. I told him that I was told by Omni Institute that there were no more fees to pay and he said that they were not tied together and that it was not true.
I was also told by him that I was not to contact Omni any more as they did not have anything to do with him and his company other than processing applicants for him. If I did contact them, that I would no longer have any affiliation with his company. I did not have the money and I was dropped like a bag of hot potatoes. I contacted Omni and explained what happened and said they could not help me. They did not return my phone calls afterwards nor would they pickup the call from me.
