Interstate Subscription Service is a bunch of bullshit. If ever someone tries to sell you some magazines, be sure not to. All I got to say, is that this is some s**t, and if anyone gets or knows a contact number that they can be reached at, please let me know.

I worked for this company off and on for 3 years. They prey on young adults, lure them in by saying how much money they can make and keep them in with the dream of the "money" This company trains their employee's to lie lie lie. First they want you to say that you are a college student (yeah right) and that you are working towards earning a degree in public speaking, "your assignment from class, is to get points from selling very high priced magazines to people. I am sure everyone has been hit up with a kid saying those lines. I need points to go to mexico or something. They keep the kids working by telling them how crappy they are and how they are going no where in life if they don't stay with the crew and sale. It actually reminds me of a gang. I myself stayed and fell for what they were saying, and then I noticed that I was actually NOT helping myself at all, I was getting $20/day as a big shot sales woman. But was bringing in way more than that. Then you add in the drugs and alcohol they bring in for you. Not good, not good. I suggest, if someone knocks on your door selling magazines that you immediatly shut the door and phone the police, chances are they will go to jail, for either having drugs on them or no permit.

#3Consumer Suggestion

Thu, July 22, 2004

I too have subscribed to a magazine through Interstate Subscriptions. This was back in Oct. 2003 & I only received 2 issues when I was supposed to get 12. Unfortunately I didn't keep the reciept, so I had no info about them. I called my bank & they couldn't help me b/c I didn't have the name of the company. Finally, I found my old checkbook register & found the name, called the bank & got their phone#. (Which is 210-340-0002) Anyway, today when I spoke to the lady, she said the reason I didn't get anymore issues was because I moved to different address. Even though you will have your mail forwarded by the post office, that can only last for 30 days & you have to actually call Interstate Subscriptions & let them know your new address so that they can report it to the publisher. So hopefully the subscriptions will start coming again. This might be your problem also, or not, but there is the phone# for you to call them. I still think its a rip off cause I paid $50 for a subscription that I could have got for $12. That's my fault though because I always get talked into stupid stuff like that.

Can you be a little more specific?

Well what did they do to you? I use to work for this company years ago and they were legit then. With the exception of the rule about making seperate checks per subscription odered...thats just stupid and I suggest no one ever agree to that if they choose to help these kids. Here are some tips for making sure you dont get ripped off. Ask for the number of the crew leader AND the Home Office number. MAKE SURE the kid is carrying a permit to sell in your area at the date he/she is there. Keep your reciept. Tell the kid to put his licence information on the receipt..that one is a bit extreame though. Check out the web site for the company in question. I just dont want people to judge All the mag crew companies as a whole for the bad ones with low standards of doing business. I have started my own company and i have all of this to insure security in your order as well as I donate money to various charities. We are not all bad. Just another company in the world making money except some of us give back to the community that supports us. Either way if ya add more specific details about how you were ripped off then I will do my best to help you.
