Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I received awful service from a moving company INTLMOVE and contacted them as well as the BBB for help in this matter. After a week of each of us telling our side of the story with a chance to rebuttal, the case was closed and nothing was done. This was the worst mistake I could have made since the local companies FINANCIALLY support their local BBB. Of course they would take sides of the company that is putting $$ in their bank account. Even more so, We were just "hit up" for additional fuel charges and if we were not to pay this fee our items would be held hostage at a OUTRAGEOUS fee.

Gloria the Admin made so many mistakes and even on one occasion called and left a voicemail message that my friend called to cancelled the shipping process. When I called back (terrified) she just responded , "oh sorry there was someone else who canceled and it sounded like your friends name" How unprofessional!

Here is my initial e-mail and NOTHING was done to recify this issue!

**Keep in mind they are super friendly before they get your money***

To Whom it May Concern:

I am writing in regards to the services provided on June 23, 2008. Intl move had arranged for local packers/movers to come to my resident and pack items to be shipped to Istanbul, Turkey.

On Wednesday June 18th a representative from Intl movers called and gave me the contact information for General Movers in Maplewood NJ and mentioned that I need to speak with Jake to make final arrangements. That same say (6/18) I, personally contacted Jake at General Movers to schedule a service time, and I was told that the services would be performed between the hours of 9am - 11am on Monday June 23, 2008. Two days later on Friday (6/20) I called Jake to verify the date and time for the moving services that coming Monday and once again, per that conversation I was told, all was "set to go", for Monday June 23, 2008 between the hours of 9-11 am. At that time I re-arranged my schedule (work and a doctors appointment--I have cancer YET I re-arranged my blood work-up for these people!!!!) in anticipation of the movers arriving between that time.

The day of the scheduled move, I woke up early in anticipation of the movers to arrive. I understood that it would be between the hours of 9-11 am. but once 1:00 rolled around I decided to call Intl Move. When I called I was told that I needed to contact General Movers, directly, which I did (at 1:10 PM). I spoke with the Manager and I asked what the delay was, and he said that I was marked in the booked and scheduled for a afternoon delivery between the hours of 3-5PM. I mentioned that I spoke with Jake last week twice and confirmed the schedule time to be on Monday 6/23 between 9-11 am. He said that he knew nothing about that and that there was nothing he could do. Also that he only had one truck and there must have been some mistake and it was "take it or leave it" I was extremely offended by that comment and the fact that he did not offer any apology but rather gave me such a bad attitude for a paid service!. I understand mistakes happen, but at least apologize for the inconvenience! He did no such thing and offered no other explanation.

I preceded to tell the manager that I desperately needed to make my doctors appointment at 2:00 and if it was possible that the movers could call me when they were on their way, so I could be home in time. I was assured that the foreman would call me a half-hour prior to arrival. NO CALL! At 3:36 my cousin called and said the movers had arrived at the apartment (NO CALL PRIOR) and not only that, but they broke a bottle of liquor and it is all over the rug. When I arrived I found one of the workers trying to clean up a HUGE brown mess on the rug with a dish-rag..but not any dishrag, my grandmother's dish-rag, which happened to be very sentimental and even more so...not readily available. It was in a box that I was packing!!!!!!! When I asked the gentleman what was going on, he profusely apologized and said he grabbed the first thing he could to clean up the mess. (I don't appreciate the fact he went into a box with personal effects). At that point I asked him to just stop because he was making it worse by rubbing the stain into the rug. He stopped as requested, and then began packing. Oh did I mention that the liquor spilled onto two pairs of shoes???? Yes, it was a mess! **There is NO WAY that my landlord will not withhold some of my security deposit/Charge me for that HUGE UNSIGHTLY STAIN- Which was NOT due to any fault on my part, but rather the negligence of the movers of General Movers. (I have dated pictures of the stained rug)

Not too mention, the men packing the items were in such a rush and just threw some very expensive books in the box like the were garbage, Just squishing them in and stuffing them I asked on 4 different times if they would be more careful and I had to keep a watchful eye on them to make sure that my books were not being damaged in the process. I did not want to micro-manage anyone, but I felt I had no choice. They just threw the books in the box, no special supplies (foam peanuts, bubble wrap etc ). Even worse, they asked us if they could borrow a few blankets because one box was not full and the books were shifting around. (You can even see on the inventory list that it was marked that two blankets were added.) What kind of reputable packing company would ask to borrow blankets to secure proper packing? What in the world is that? Why did they not have proper packing supplies, if we as customers paid extra for that particular service?

Also, they did not tape the boxes very well. As two men (two separate times) walked passed me, I noticed the bottom of the taped boxes opening up. I said to the first gentleman that the box was opening and that it was a good idea to reinforce the box with more tape- (which he did). The second time a gentleman walked passed another box was opening and I could actually see the book coming out. I asked him several times to fix the box, but we were not able to communicate, as he did not understand English.

Considering we paid $2662.00; I am absolutely, disappointed, upset, and furious for all the miscommunication, un-reliability, un professionalism, the lack of responsibility and damage that was caused.

Your immediate attention to this matter is required, and I hope to see a resolution as soon as possible!

No resoultion, just additional fees, as well as not respinding to calls or e-mails, and now I am being told my shipment will arrive 08/11/08 2 months after payment was received. I could have gotten better service from FED EX, UPS, or DHL and I am sure it would have been more professional and they would not have asked to use MY blankets to insulate the boxes!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Hi I am not connected with INTLmove in any way - except for the fact that I have, or rather currently a victim of their practices. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I thank you for your report - yet blame myself for not seeing this BEFORE i hired their services. Right now, as I mentioned, my shipping is being held hostage. I'm not sure if this is something you have pursued but, this time they have really picked on the wrong person. I am currently gathering initial information to prepare a case against INTLMove, no holds barred. Can you tell me if you actually received your belongings or not. Thanks in advance
