Load picked up 3/14/11 in Sheboygan, WI.  Was supposed to deliver in Florida on 3/16/11 - 1st stop in Jacksonville, FL to deliver 8 am on 3/16/11, and 2nd stop in Tampa, FL later that afternoon.

Called for a check call on Tuesday, Renata the dispatcher said load was on track to deliver as scheduled.   Communication began Wednesday when truck wasn't at point of delivery, dispatch couldn't give time of arrival. Intrex dispatcher said truck broke down in Atlanta GA on 3/15, but the truck was moving toward destination, at that point was in Macon, GA.  We requested fuel receipts to determine where truck was, but they wouldn't provide.  Requested name and phone number for mechanic to verify breakdown, none provided.  Numerous calls went unanswered by Intrex.  Finally, Renata promised truck would be at destination in Jacksonville, FL first thing on Thursday, 3/17/11; communication with dispatch began at 8 am on 3/17/11, and she could not inform me of truck's location.  Truck finally arrived mid-morning.  When my agent attempted to unload both stops, Intrex driver blocked door and wouldn't allow agent access to Tampa freight.  Truck pulled away, Dispatch demanded payment, or she wouldn't deliver remainder of freight to Tampa.  We initiated wire transfer, to complete when truck bumped dock in Tampa.  Had the bank call and confirm with Renata that the transfer had been initiated.  Renata stopped truck - wouldn't move unless money transferred immediately.  Our customer got involved at that point, a cashier's check would be waiting in Tampa.  Communication between Intrex dispatch and our customer became very rude and demanding.  at which point our customer told Intrext dispatch to just keep the freight.  At that point she agreed to continue to Tampa and would accept the cashier's check. When driver arrived he WOULD NOT BACK UP TO DOCK until he had check in hand. After some time, he backed up to within 10 feet of dock with door open, then we gave him the check.

We attempted to contact Intrex Express cargo insurance carrier to inform them that they had a potential claim on their hands.  Agent provided on certificate by Intrex informed us that they had cancelled Intrex, that they did not have Intrex's cargo insurance.  The agent & I conferenced in Renata at Intrex, and Renata refused to provide either of us with the name of the current cargo insurance carrier.  So not only did this company blatantly hold our freight hostage for a full day, they did so without valid cargo insurance.
