Complaint Review: Island Sun Tanning - Lynne & Charles Schubert - Edison New Jersey

i do not understand the problem with this. looks to me like island sun got screwed out of this deal. i am going to them for an airbrush , and it seems as they know what they are doing. these people were lucky enough to get their money back and now they have the nerve to complain?

The first thing I want to say is that if anyone was ripped off in this trasaction it was me, since I spent over an hour on 3 Airbrush tans and didn't get paid for them, because the customers removed the tanning solution on their legs by shaving after being told not to do anything abbrasive to the tans, and I was nice enough to destroy the check they had paid me with, although I lost my time and materials due to their mistake. So the cutomer lost nothing and gained two great tans, except for the areas they themselves ruined by shaving. How can this lady call ME a thief and a liar - when she stole my services and didnt pay for them? After airbrushing this daughter and mother (twice for the daughter to make her tan darker) they were both extremely satisfied. The next morning Michele Dink called my husband and stated that she was annoyed that her spray had come off after she shaved her legs twice. The first thing that went through my mind was - I stressed not to do anything abrassive to the spray - isn't shaving with a razor blade one of the most abrassive actions one can take? I called her back and asked her why she had shaved her legs after being told not to do anything abbrasive. She said noone told them not to shave. To be nice -even though they had ruined the results themselves, I said I would destroy the check her mother paid me with. She called me back after talking to her Mom and said OK. That evening Michelle's mother came in and asked for her money back. I told her that Michelle had said she had checked with her and OKed my destroying her check. Then Mom mentioned that my husband had called her daughter stupid - I said - I doubt that he said that - and the mother said -"not only did your tan come off when we shaved [against my direction to avoid abbrasives], but now you are denying that your husband called my daughter stupid - I am calling the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau." I think it is a shame that these two people got airbrushed for free, ruined the results themselves, and then called me a liar and a thief. If they would have taken care of the spray the way they were instructed to, and not used an abrassive razor on their legs - the Airbrushes would have stayed as superb as they looked when they left the salon. They ruined the results themselves, and I didn't get paid a thing for my time or materials.

after reading the first comment about airbrush.... i just want to note all my friends love it... to shave after a spray tan is like touchin a wall that has wet paint on it.. u just dont do it... makes no sense to me for someone to complain... i feel like its just common knowledge for people to know that they shud shave b4 a spray tan... NOT right after.........???

as a tanner of Island Sun for the past 5 yrs i would just like to note that i have never had a bad expierence at that salon.... All the employees have been nice and i have never had a problem about my tan, nor have my friends.. i also have numerous friends that only do that airbrush and they are always beyond satisfied with the results... i do not agree with the first comment on Island Sun only because ive been a member for so long and i have always, and will also referr my friends there... i wish Island Sun the best... if you want a great tan in great equipment or a great airbrush i recommend you try out Island Sun..!!

Look you have to take this filing with a grain of salt... i have been going to Island sun for years, using both spray and beds for my tans. Never had any mentionable issues... THey have young girls as the hostesses and you know how jersey girls can be, easy on the eyes, but not a lot going on upstairs.. Spray tans are tricky. If you over moisturize your skin prior or dont follow the post spray instructions you are not going to get optimal results. When you are told not to wash, scrub, or shave for 6-8 hours after a spray, DONT WASH, Scrub or SHAVE.. jeez..follow the freaking instructions... If you don't you get what you get. The place is clean, and has a wide variety of beds and i think 2 differnet types of sprays. I have never had an issue..
