I first enrolled in ITT tech because a previous school had seriously messed up. The only thing I got out of that school was enough credits to skip the first two quarters at ITT. At first ITT was heaven compared to my previous educational experiences, but that changed otherwise I wouldn't be writing this now.

I enrolled one year ago in the Software Application Programming program. Things were great at first, I got a good refresher course on math and trig and I actually learned some stuff in my first C++ class.

Then along came NIIT, those blue books are the bane of all students at ITT. It is a rare case when source code from the book actually works. The code errors are not the only things wrong with them, the way they are written you have to scour for any useful information.

I've read others complaints about the removeable hard drives. My class has received theirs and can take them home but we receieved ours a quarter late. We were suppose to have them for Database Development because we needed to install SQL Server and we are not suppposed to install anything on the school computers. We didn't get our hard drives until the next quarter despite the fact our instructor made several attempts to fix the error.

The courses go by very fast. I've been learning less and less other than how to copy source code from the books (Which doesn't work in the first place). The speed of the courses would not be a problem for me if I had quality books, but I have to go out and spend my money to get good books, but I don't have any money because I'm paying for school.

If I wasn't going into my seventh quarter in two weeks I would just leave and go somewhere else even if I had to start all over. All I care about now is getting the piece of paper that says I know my programming and I'll just teach myself.

My whole point of all this is I would not recommend going to ITT tech unless you know that you can teach yourself, because they gave up on doing that several months ago.
